# Moodistory

> Mood tracker that logs a day in seconds and keeps data on-device

Moodistory is a mood tracker and diary for iPhone and Android. An entry is made by swiping to a mood on a scale you define, from 2 to 11 points, and tapping icons for what you did; notes, photos and a location are optional. A Year in Pixels calendar and an analysis view show which activities go with better or worse moods. All data stays on the device, with manual, iCloud or Google Drive backups. The app is free to download, and a Premium subscription unlocks all of it.

## Key features

- **Entries without typing:** Swipe to set a mood and tap icons from more than 180 events in 10 categories. Notes, photos and a location can be added, and a day can hold as many entries as you like.
- **Customizable mood scale:** The rating scale can be set anywhere from 2 to 11 points, and an odd-numbered scale leaves room for a neutral mood. Events, colors and the app icon can be changed too.
- **Year in Pixels calendar:** A color-coded calendar gives yearly, monthly and daily views, and you can drill down from a year to a single entry to see what was behind a mood.
- **Mood analysis:** An analysis view shows which events go with good or bad moods, how mood moves across an average day and which weekday is usually best. On iOS it can read Apple Health data such as sleep.
- **PDF, CSV export and CSV import:** Entries export to a printable PDF that is built on the device, or to CSV. Mood data from other apps, Excel or Google Sheets can be imported as CSV.
- **On-device storage, lock and backups:** Data is stored only on the phone and can be locked with face, fingerprint or code. Backups are a manual zip file, or iCloud on iOS and Google Drive on Android.

## Good for

- People who want to log a mood and activities without writing anything
- Users who want mood data kept on the phone and off vendor servers
- Printing or sharing a mood diary as a PDF

## Worth knowing

- There is no web or desktop version: the apps are for iPhone and Android, plus an Apple Watch app.
- The vendor publishes no price list; the US App Store shows Premium purchases from $2.99 to $39.99 without billing periods.
- The vendor's pages do not say which features the free version leaves out.
- Data lives only on the device, so moving to a new phone depends on a backup you make yourself.
