MST SERP Counter puts a position number beside each result on a Google search page, for free, so you can read where a site stands without counting. That's all it does: no history, no reports, Google only, and the listing hasn't been updated since February 2024. - **Value for money: A.** Free from the Chrome Web Store, which lists no in-app purchases, and there's no paid version anywhere. - **Free plan and trial: A.** Free outright: position numbers on every Google results page, with no account and nothing to upgrade to. - **Features: D.** One narrow function: a number beside each Google result for the search in front of you. No rank history, no saved keywords, no other search engine and no page checks. - **Ease of use: B.** No rating on record, but nothing to set up: install it and the numbers appear on your next Google search. - **Platforms and integrations: C.** Chrome only, so computers only, working on Google Search alone with no integrations. Nothing scores higher for less, though at least one tool matches that score at a lower price. The category's chart of price against score: https://toolgpa.com/charts/seo-extensions ## Keep it, or make your own? **Keep it.** MST SERP Counter is free, so making your own would save you nothing. And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces. That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 18 of the 34 other SEO browser extensions grade higher. - You could not: Search volumes for millions of keywords, gathered and kept up to date. - You could not: Daily checks of where your pages rank in search results. A judgement by ToolGPA from this listing, by rules that are the same for every tool. Nothing was built to test it. **Tags:** Rank tracking, Keyword research ## Alternatives - [SEO Search Simulator by Nightwatch](https://toolgpa.com/tools/nightwatch-seo-simulator): Free Chrome extension for Google searches as seen from anywhere.
