## Good for

- Nutritionists, dietitians and health coaches who sell programs
- Functional medicine practitioners who build supplement protocols
- Students and new practitioners starting on the free plan

## Worth knowing

- Client caps apply below Plus: 3 on Sprout, 10 on Starter and 300 on Professional.
- Text reminders are not on Sprout or Starter, need add-on credits on Professional, and are capped at 750 a month on Plus.
- Only Team allows more than one practitioner, at $50 each beyond the first two; practices with 10+ practitioners are quoted a custom package.
- Group sessions start on Professional; evergreen and self-paced programs, portal branding and admin seats start on Plus.

## ToolGPA grades

**GPA: 2.2 out of 4**, graded Oct 24, 2026. Practice Better combines booking, telehealth, charting, payments and online programs for nutrition and wellness practices. Starter is $25 a month on yearly billing but holds 10 clients, so most practices land on Professional at $62 or Plus at $89, and only the Team plan lets a second practitioner in.

- **Value for money: D.** Starter is $25 a month on yearly billing, $35 monthly, but stops at 10 clients. 300 clients means Professional at $62 a month yearly or $69 monthly, above this category's dearer quarter ($59). A second practitioner needs Team at $155.
- **Free plan and trial: C.** Sprout is free for 3 clients and 100 MB, with no telehealth, which suits a student more than a practice. Paid plans have a 14-day trial, or 30 days on Team.
- **Features: B.** Booking, built-in telehealth, forms and notes, supplement protocols, food and lifestyle journals, Stripe payments, superbills, and online programs and courses. Claims go through Claim.MD rather than inside the app.
- **Ease of use: C.** No App Store rating on record. Programs, protocols, forms and booking pages all take building before clients see any of them.
- **Platforms and integrations: B.** Web, iPhone and Android, with Fullscript, Rupa Health, Google Calendar, Zoom, Claim.MD, Oura and Zapier. No desktop app.

## Where it stands among therapy and clinic software

- Practice Better's GPA of 2.2 is higher than 2 of the 12 other therapy and clinic software we grade, and level with 5.
- It stands best on platforms and integrations (B, above 3 of 12) and worst on value for money (D, above 0).
- Its paid plans start at $25 a month, against a middle price of $39 for the category: 2 of the 10 others that charge start lower.
- On features, ease of use and platforms it scores 2.7 out of 4. Nothing scores higher for less, though at least one tool matches that score at a lower price.

## Keep it, or make your own?

**Keep it.** To replace Practice Better you would be making video sessions that meet health privacy rules. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one. That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 5 of the 12 other therapy and clinic software grade higher. It costs $300 a year.

- You could make: Appointment booking, clinical notes and online courses: an app builder makes these well.
- You could not: Video sessions that meet health privacy rules.
- You could not: Insurance claims sent to payers through a clearinghouse.
- You could not: A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- You could not: It plugs into other products, That Clean Life, Fullscript and Rupa Health among them.
- You could not: AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- You could not: People on the other end: coaches. No app builder makes those.
- You could not: Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
- You could not: What a company asks for before it lets staff use something: HIPAA and roles and permissions.
- You could not: Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
- You could not: The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
