How we grade them

Value for money
BThe US App Store lists BZ Reminder PRO at $4.49 and at $4.99, with no word on whether that's once or recurring, and nobody says what PRO adds. Reminders for other people are sold in packs from $0.99. With that little to go on, it gets a B.
A$7.99 once covers iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and the Mac app is another $14.99. Both together cost about what six months of a typical to-do subscription does. Features released after your first year need an optional Upgrade Pass, $4.99 a year on iOS, and anything unlocked stays if you stop.
Free plan and trial
BFree to download on both stores, and reminders, repeats, birthdays, the calendar and widgets are all in. But Google Play marks the Android app as containing ads, and the vendor doesn't list where free stops.
FNothing is free. Due is a paid download with no free version and no trial, so the $7.99 comes before you've set a single reminder.
Features
BRepeating reminders down to every hour, snooze, colour marks, notes, widgets, a calendar and birthdays pulled from your contacts. Good for reminders. It's a reminder app, though, so don't come looking for projects or subtasks.
BIt does one job, reminders, and does it fully. Auto Snooze re-notifies you every 1 to 60 minutes, 5 times by default and up to 10. Preset buttons postpone in a tap, repeats get as fussy as the third Wednesday of each month, and timers are reusable. But it's reminders and timers, not lists or projects.
Ease of use
BWe have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is as high as we go. It's built around setting a task in a few taps, and on Android Wear you can make one by voice.
A4.7 from about 2,800 App Store ratings. Type or dictate "at 9am tomorrow" and it offers that as the due date. There's no Due account to set up, and reminders fire without an internet connection.
Platforms and integrations
CAndroid and iPhone or iPad apps, plus Wear OS watches. No web or desktop version is listed. And the App Store shows the iOS app last updated in June 2025, while Android got one in August 2026.
CiPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac, synced through your own iCloud or Dropbox, plus Siri. All Apple. The Watch app is a companion that needs the paired iPhone, and the Mac app is a separate purchase.

Calendar
A calendar view shows all reminders and birthdays by date, alongside the plain list of reminders.
Birthdays

Recurring reminders
Repeats range from daily and weekly to patterns such as the third Wednesday of each month or every 3 months after completion.
Reusable countdown timers
Timers are precise to the second, several can run at once, and a timer set up once is kept for reuse.
