How ToolGPA makes money
ToolGPA is free to use and always will be for readers. It earns money in two ways: partner links, and paid plans for the companies whose tools are listed.
Partner links
Some links to a vendor’s website are partner links, also called affiliate links. If you follow one and later pay for the product, the vendor pays us a commission. You pay the same price as anyone else, and sometimes less, when the link carries a discount.
A partner link is always marked “Partner link” right beside it. A link without that mark earns us nothing.
Right now no link on the site is a partner link. This page is here so the rule is clear before the first one appears.
Deals
The deals page lists discounts that vendors publish on their own websites, each with a link to the page that states it. Those are open to everyone and earn us nothing. If a deal ever comes through a partner link, it is marked the same way as any other partner link.
Paid plans for vendors
A company can claim its listing for free, send corrections to its facts and see how its page is doing. It can also pay for a plan that shows it more about its category and its rivals. What each plan includes, and what it costs, is on the page for vendors.
A vendor’s corrections are checked against a public page before anything changes. The dashboard gives a vendor no way to edit its review or its grade.
If a vendor ever pays to be shown in a particular spot on the site, that spot will be labelled as paid.
What is not here
There are no display ads on ToolGPA, and we do not sell or share information about the people who visit. The privacy page says exactly what is recorded.
How reviews and grades are written is on the How it works page.
