Free guide to webinar and live streaming tools

Our top three webinar and live streaming tools

ClickMeeting comes first: from $37 a month for 50 attendees, billed annually, one account runs live and automated webinars, meetings and paid events on the web, computers and phones. Restream is second for going live on YouTube, Twitch and LinkedIn at once, with a free plan for 2 channels. eWebinar is third for demos and training replayed on a schedule. GoTo Webinar narrowly missed: it grades above eWebinar and has a 30-day trial, but it does ClickMeeting's live job and cloud recordings need Elevate at $103. Castr matches Restream's grade but expects an encoder such as OBS.

  1. First: ClickMeeting

    Free trial · from $37/mo

For: Most small businesses running webinars

ClickMeeting runs live webinars, automated (pre-recorded) webinars and ordinary meetings from one account, with registration and waiting rooms, polls, a whiteboard, breakout rooms, captions, paid events through Stripe or PayPal and broadcasts to YouTube, Facebook or LinkedIn. Live is $37 a month for up to 50 attendees and Automated $48, both billed annually, and the 14-day trial for 25 attendees needs no card. It runs on the web, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. Know the limits: rooms of 100 to 1,000 cost more, running two events at once needs the Parallel events add-on, and the whiteboard works in events of up to 40 people.

  2. Second: Restream

    Free plan · from $19/mo

For: People streaming live to several platforms at once

Restream sends one live video, from its browser studio or from OBS or Zoom, to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and other channels at once, with every channel's comments in one chat. The free plan streams to 2 channels with Restream branding, and Standard is $19 a month ($190 a year billed annually) for 3 channels, no branding and cloud recording. It is second because it is a streaming studio first: webinars with a registration page and replay cost an extra $99 a month for 100 attendees, Studio stays at 720p until Professional at $49 a month, and there is no desktop or phone app.

  3. Third: eWebinar

    Free trial · from $99/mo

For: Teams replaying demos and training on a schedule

eWebinar turns a recorded demo, onboarding call or training into a webinar that runs on demand, just in time or on a recurring schedule in each viewer's time zone, with more than 25 timed polls, quizzes and calls to action, and chat answered later by email or Slack. Level 1 is $99 a month, or $1,010 a year, for 1 active eWebinar, 1,000 registrants a month and unlimited team members, with a 14-day free trial. It is third because the job is narrower: it does not host live webinars, a sixth active eWebinar moves an account to Level 3 at $299 a month, and ClickMeeting's Automated plan runs pre-recorded webinars for 50 attendees at $48.

How does ToolGPA rank webinar and live streaming tools?

From what each tool's own pages show (price, free plan, platforms, features and limits) and from what people say about it in public reviews and discussions. Not from our own testing. First place goes to the tool that suits the most people, and second and third to the best choices for the readers it leaves out.
