Disciplined vs Streaks

Disciplined

• People who want a plain daily checklist without game mechanics or a social feed
• Those motivated by a streak that resets when a day is missed
• Buyers who prefer a low-priced lifetime purchase to a subscription

Streaks

• People who want a simple habit tracker on Apple devices
• Habits the Health app can confirm automatically, such as daily steps
• Buyers who prefer a one-time purchase to a subscription

Disciplined

• A missed day resets a habit's streak, which the vendor presents as the point of the app.
• Listed for iPhone, iPad and Android only; no web or desktop version is offered.
• Advanced analytics and other unnamed features need Disciplined Prime; the vendor does not list in detail what Premium adds.

Streaks

• Listed only for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple Vision Pro; no Android, Windows or web version is offered.
• The app tracks at most 24 tasks.
• It is a paid download at $5.99; no free version or trial is listed.

Disciplined

One-tap daily checklist

Add a habit in a few seconds and mark it complete with a single tap. Habits can be ones to build or ones to break.

Streaks that reset

Each habit's streak is shown when the app opens. It grows on every day the habit is completed and resets when a day is missed.

Weekly and monthly statistics

Weekly and monthly views show completion rate, best streaks and where consistency is slipping. Advanced analytics are part of Premium.

Flexible scheduling

A habit can be daily, weekly, tied to specific days of the week or set to a custom interval, with its own target.

Per-habit reminders

Set a custom reminder for each habit so the notification arrives at the time you chose for it.

Sync and widgets

Habit data syncs across your devices automatically, and a home screen widget lets you check habits off without opening the app.

Streaks

Up to 24 tasks with streaks

Choose or create up to 24 tasks. Completing a task extends its streak by a day, and breaking the chain resets the streak to zero.

Flexible schedules

A task does not have to be daily: set the days it applies to, or a weekly frequency, so that days off do not break the streak.

Health app tracking

Tasks linked to the iOS Health app, such as steps or running distance, are recognized as complete automatically.

Negative and timed tasks

Negative tasks are meant for breaking bad habits, and timed tasks are also supported.

Apple Watch, widgets and Siri Shortcuts

The Apple Watch app has complications and widgets, the iPhone has home screen widgets, and Siri Shortcuts are supported.

iCloud sync and sharing

Tasks sync across your devices through iCloud and can be shared with other Streaks users.
