|---|---|---|
| Value for money | AThe Personal subscription is $49.95 a year for one person on up to 3 devices. That's about $4 a month, where the middle for email apps is $9. Every feature and the AI Add-on are in. Or pay $74.95 once for the current major version. | BWe only have Pro's price in rupees: ₹4,814.95 a year as shown to a visitor in India, or ₹9,635.95 once with a year of updates. The dollar price couldn't be read, so we can't set it fairly against other planners. The Cloud add-on is $2.99 a month. |
| Free plan and trial | BThere's a Free license, but it's 2 email accounts on one device, for personal use only. Thread view, notes, snooze, Send Later and translation are all paid. You do get every feature for the first 30 days. | AEPIM Mail is free with no ads and no time limit, and it has the lot: email, calendar, tasks, notes, contacts and passwords. Plenty of people could stop here. What you give up is cloud sync, automatic backup and tags. |
| Features | AMail, calendar, tasks, contacts and chat in one program, with PGP and S/MIME encryption on every license. Paid licenses add snooze, Send Later, undo send, Watch for Reply and translation of incoming mail. That's the whole job of a mail client. | ASix calendar views with a tasks sidebar, tasks as a tree or a Kanban board, a unified inbox with rules and PGP, Markdown notes and an encrypted password store. Pro syncs with Google, Microsoft 365, iCloud, Nextcloud and Dropbox. |
| Ease of use | BNo rating on record, so a B is our ceiling. It's a desktop app you install and add your accounts to, and it imports your data from Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird and other clients. | BWe have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is as high as we go. It's a Windows program you install, and it can even run from a USB drive in portable mode. With six modules in one window, expect a little exploring. |
| Platforms and integrations | AWindows and Mac on the desktop, plus free iPhone and Android apps that need no license. It connects to Google Workspace, Office 365, Outlook and Exchange, and paid licenses add Teams, Slack and Rocket.Chat. No Linux or web version is listed. | BWindows on the desktop, plus Android and iPhone apps, and Pro syncs with a long list of cloud services. But the iPhone app has only Tasks and Passwords, and the store listings date both mobile apps' last updates to 2023. |

EPIM (EssentialPIM)

Worth knowing
eM Client
- The Free license is for personal, non-commercial use only, on one device with 2 email accounts.
- Thread view, notes, snooze, Send Later, undo send and message translation need a paid Personal or Business license.
- A one-time license covers the current major version only. Later major versions need a paid upgrade or the Lifetime Upgrades option.
- No Linux or web version is listed. The pricing page shows different prices by country; the figures here are the US ones.
EPIM (EssentialPIM)
- The desktop app is Windows only. The iOS app includes only the Tasks and Passwords modules, and the store listings date both mobile apps' latest updates to 2023.
- Cloud sync, automatic backup, tags, templates and Sticky Notes need EPIM Pro. The free EPIM Mail edition leaves them out.
- A perpetual license includes 1 year of updates. Newer versions after that need a paid 12-month update extension.
- License prices are in Indian rupees, as the checkout converts them for a visitor in India; they shift with the exchange rate. US dollar prices could not be read.
