Finch

Virtual pet companion

Completing goals and activities earns energy that sends the bird on an adventure. It comes back with a story and sometimes a new discovery.

Daily goals

Set personal goals such as drinking water or making the bed and check them off through the day. New users start with a few suggested goals.

Reflections and journaling

Reflection prompts cover writing about the day, gratitude and how you are feeling. Finch Plus adds further prompts.

Mood tracking and insights

The App Store listing describes mood check-ins with trends, and insights that combine mood, journal tags, goals and quizzes.

Breathing, soundscapes and focus timer

Breathing exercises, soundscapes and a focus timer are built in. Finch Plus expands the activity and timer options.

Friends and good vibes

Add friends inside the app and send them short messages of encouragement, which the vendor calls good vibes.

Streaks

Up to 24 tasks with streaks

Choose or create up to 24 tasks. Completing a task extends its streak by a day, and breaking the chain resets the streak to zero.

Flexible schedules

A task does not have to be daily: set the days it applies to, or a weekly frequency, so that days off do not break the streak.

Health app tracking

Tasks linked to the iOS Health app, such as steps or running distance, are recognized as complete automatically.

Negative and timed tasks

Negative tasks are meant for breaking bad habits, and timed tasks are also supported.

Apple Watch, widgets and Siri Shortcuts

The Apple Watch app has complications and widgets, the iPhone has home screen widgets, and Siri Shortcuts are supported.

iCloud sync and sharing

Tasks sync across your devices through iCloud and can be shared with other Streaks users.
