Who each one suits

Lists To do

  • Shopping lists, packing lists and simple checklists on an iPhone
  • People who want a free list app that syncs through their own iCloud
  • Users who like to see a completion percentage for each list

Things To Do

  • Plain to-do, grocery and packing lists on Apple devices
  • People who want a free app with no ads and no account
  • Reusing the same shopping or packing list each time

Worth knowing

Lists To do

  • iPhone and iPad only: sync runs between iOS devices on the same iCloud account, and no Android, web or desktop version is listed.
  • Sharing sends a list or an image of it; the listing does not describe lists that several people edit together.
  • The App Store lists English as the app's only language.
  • Extra theme colors and stickers are a $1.99 in-app purchase.

Things To Do

  • There is no separate Mac version: Apple silicon Macs run the iPhone and iPad app, and there is no Android, Windows or web version.
  • The App Store listing requires iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5 or macOS 26.5 or later.
  • Lists leave the app only as exported text or a printout; the guide describes no lists that several people edit together.
  • The vendor's guide covers no due dates or reminders; the only dates are trip dates on Travel lists.

Key features

Lists To do

Lists and checklists
Lists hold checkable items and take one of more than 150 category icons. Checked items can be kept at the bottom, and a whole list can be checked or unchecked at once.
Sorting, pinning and moving
Lists sort alphabetically, by creation date or by hand. A list can be duplicated, items moved between lists, and important lists or items pinned to the top.
Reminders and upcoming feed
Reminders are one-time or recurring: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually. One feed shows the upcoming items from every list.
iCloud sync
Lists sync automatically between iOS devices signed in to the same iCloud account, with no setup.
Statistics and badge count
Each list shows its percentage complete and its unchecked count, and the app icon's badge can show the unchecked items for one list or for all lists.
Share and print
A list can be shared from inside the app, captured whole as an image to share or to set as a lock screen, or printed with AirPrint.

Things To Do

Three list types
A list is a To-Do, Shopping or Travel list, each with its own behavior, and its type can be switched later. The app asks first when a switch would change headers, locks or trip dates.
Headers, stars and reordering
Shopping and Travel lists group items under section headers, starred items rise to the top, and items are dragged into any order.
Reusable lists with locked items
Uncheck All resets a Shopping or Travel list for the next use. An item marked Keep Completed stays checked through the reset.
Trip dates on Travel lists
A Travel list takes a start and end date and shows how many nights the trip lasts, with packing items grouped by section.
iCloud sync without an account
Changes appear on every device signed in to the same iCloud account. There is no separate app account, and the data stays in the user's own iCloud.
Import, export and print
A list can be created from pasted text with one item per line, and any list or single task can be exported as text, copied or printed from the share sheet.
