What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.6
GPA, above 38 of the 51 other keyword research tools we grade
AlsoAsked runs a live Google search and maps the People Also Ask questions that appear for it, showing which questions lead on to which. Searches can target a country, city and language. Paid plans add deeper searches, CSV export, bulk searches, an API and an MCP server, depending on the tier. It is made by Candour.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about AlsoAsked, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The report card
Best for mapping Google's People Also Ask questions
AlsoAsked runs a live Google search and maps the People Also Ask questions as a tree, so you see which question leads to which, by country, city and language. Basic is $12 a month on yearly billing, plus tax, with unlimited users. But it returns nothing when Google shows no People Also Ask box, Basic keeps history for 24 hours with no CSV export, and the API waits on Pro.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Basic is $12 a month on yearly billing, $15 monthly, plus tax, which is inside this category's cheapest quarter. That's 100 searches a month for unlimited users. CSV export needs Lite at $23, and the API waits on Pro at $47. |
| Free plan and trial | C | You get a few searches a month without signing up, though AlsoAsked doesn't say how many. There's no trial of the paid plans, so that small allowance is all you can try. |
| Features | C | Live People Also Ask questions as a tree, by country, city and language, with deep searches about 100 questions down, bulk runs and exports. It does that one job fully, but it's a smaller job, and it returns nothing when Google shows no PAA box. |
| Ease of use | B | No rating on record, but there's nothing to set up: you don't even need to sign in. Type a question and the tree draws itself. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web only, with no desktop or phone app. Pro adds an API with webhooks and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, and it works with Screaming Frog. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who AlsoAsked is for
- Fits if you write FAQ sections and briefs around the questions Google shows today
- Works for teams that need to compare questions across countries or cities
Who it is not for
- Skip it if your topics rarely show a People Also Ask box, as there's then nothing to map
- Tight if you're on Basic, with 100 searches, 24 hours of history and no CSV export
- Pricey if you want the API, MCP or bulk searches, which are Pro only at $47 a month on yearly billing
- Watch out: the free allowance isn't published, there's no trial of paid plans, and tax is added at checkout
Good to know
Good for
- Writers building FAQ sections and content briefs around real questions
- SEOs mapping search intent for a topic in a given country or city
- Teams that want question data inside AI assistants or their own scripts
Worth knowing
- It only returns results when Google shows a People Also Ask box for the search.
- Bulk searches, the API and the MCP server are only on the Pro plan.
- Basic keeps search history for just 24 hours and has no CSV export.
- Prices are shown before tax, which is added at checkout.
