Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 6 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

Blitzit is a personal productivity app built around a to-do list that can collapse into a floating countdown timer for the task in progress. Tasks carry time estimates, and Blitz mode works through the Today column one task at a time, with optional Pomodoro intervals and reports on where the time went. Desktop apps cover macOS and Windows, with companion apps for iOS and Android, and a rebuilt 3.0 version is in beta.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Blitzit, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for a to-do list with a timer on every task

Blitzit puts a clock on your to-dos: give each task a time estimate, hit Blitz mode, and the list shrinks into a floating timer for the one thing you're doing.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $4.99 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $4.99 per month, billed yearly ($59.88).

  3. 3

    You can try it first

7-day free trial after downloading; plans are bought inside the app

  4. 4

    It runs on 4 platforms

    macOS, Windows, iOS and Android.

  5. 5

    Blitz mode and floating timer

Blitz mode starts a focus session on the Today column: the top task gets a live timer while the rest wait below, and the list can collapse into a floating countdown.

  6. 6

    Time estimates and tracking

Each task takes an estimate of how long it should take, and the app records done time and overtime so the two can be compared.

  7. 7

    Pomodoro timer

A Pomodoro mode splits work into sprints and breaks of fixed lengths that you set, such as 60 minutes of work and a 15-minute break.

  8. 8

    A 2.2 GPA, above 6 of 123

That is against the other to-do list apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

The plain part of Blitzit you could make: tasks, Pomodoro timer, time tracking and reports. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card

Best for a to-do list with a timer on every task

Blitzit puts a clock on your to-dos: give each task a time estimate, hit Blitz mode, and the list shrinks into a floating timer for the one thing you're doing. There's no free plan, just a 7-day trial, then $4.99 a month billed yearly or $6.99 monthly. Version 3.0 is a rebuild still in beta, with a one-way migration from 2.x, and some features are marked beta or coming soon.

ToolGPA report cardBlitzitGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyC$4.99 a month billed yearly ($59.88), $6.99 month to month. That's the dear end of normal for this category, where the middle is $3.99. Both plans carry everything, at least, so nothing's held back.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan. You download it, get 7 days, then buy inside the app. No card asked for up front, but a week is short for finding out whether timing your tasks sticks as a habit.
FeaturesCEstimates, a live timer per task, Pomodoro sprints, repeating tasks and time reports: the basics plus the clock. The gaps are the vendor's own: Blitzy and Sessions Tracking are labelled beta, and PDF export is marked coming soon.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. The loop itself is short, fill Today and press Blitz, but the listing puts a migration in front of you: version 2.x lists must be moved to 3.0, and changes don't sync back.
Platforms and integrationsBMac, Windows, iPhone and Android, with Google Calendar, Notion, ClickUp, Asana, Raycast and Zapier, plus an MCP server for ChatGPT and Claude. No web or Linux outside the 3.0 beta.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Blitzit is for

  • Fits if you want a countdown in front of you while you work on a task
  • Works for people whose tasks live in Notion, ClickUp or Asana and who want a timer on top

Who it is not for

  • Not for you if you want a free plan, as it's 7 days and then you pay
  • Skip it if you want settled software, since 3.0 is in beta and 2.x lists must be migrated, with no sync back
  • Too light for teams, because it's built as a personal productivity app
  • Watch out: the Blitzy assistant and Sessions Tracking are labeled beta, and PDF export of reports is still coming
  • Not for you if you're on Linux or want a web app, as both exist only in the 3.0 beta

Good to know

Good for

  • People who want a timer running against each task on their list
  • Freelancers and students tracking how long tasks really take
  • Mac and Windows users who like an always-visible floating timer

Worth knowing

  • There is no free plan: after the 7-day trial a Monthly or Annual plan is required.
  • The stable desktop app is for macOS 12.3 or later and Windows 10 and 11. Linux and web versions exist only in the 3.0 beta.
  • Blitzit 3.0 uses a new database, so lists and tasks from version 2.x have to be migrated, and changes do not sync back.
  • The Blitzy assistant and Sessions Tracking are labeled beta, and PDF export of reports is marked coming soon.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Blitzit you could make: tasks, Pomodoro timer, time tracking and reports. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 97 of the 123 other to-do list apps grade higher. It costs $59.88 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks, Pomodoro timer, time tracking and reports: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Notion and ClickUp among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.

What this rests on. Blitzit’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
