Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

3.0

GPA, above 57 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade

Calendars is Readdle's calendar and planner app for Apple devices. It brings Google, iCloud, Outlook and Exchange calendars into one view, shows tasks from Apple Reminders or Google Tasks next to events, and accepts events typed in plain language. The app is free to download with a basic calendar; most of the planner features sit behind the Calendars PRO subscription, sold through the App Store.

To get you started, here are 10 things to know about Calendars by Readdle, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for events and tasks in one planner on Apple devices

The free plan is a basic calendar with one alert per event: tasks, a second account, recurring events and typed entry are all PRO.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $1.67 a month when paid by the year

As its pricing page puts it: $19.99 per year, or $3.99 per month (US App Store in-app purchases).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

a basic calendar with one alert per event. Tasks, multiple accounts, recurring events, natural language input and weather are part of Calendars PRO.

  4. 4

    It runs on 2 platforms

    macOS and iOS.

  5. 5

Several calendar accounts in one view

Connect Google, iCloud, Outlook and Exchange calendars, color-code them and hide the ones you do not need. Adding more than one account is a PRO feature.

  6. 6

    Tasks next to events

Tasks sync through Apple Reminders or Google Tasks and appear in the planner with due dates and repeats. Events and tasks can be rescheduled by drag and drop.

  7. 7

    Natural language input

Type a title such as "Coffee with Alex next Tuesday at 9 am" and the app fills in the date and time. It works in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian, on PRO.

  8. 8

    Refunds: 30 days

It depends entirely on where you bought it, and the gap is wide. Buy from Readdle's website and the terms promise a full refund within 30 days on a yearly or lifetime plan and 14 days on a monthly one.

  9. 9

    A 3.0 GPA, above 57 of 74

That is against the other calendar and scheduling apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

Who Calendars by Readdle is for

  • Fits if you're on iPhone, iPad and Mac and want events and tasks in one planner
  • Works for Google Workspace users who book meeting rooms and check coworkers' schedules, on PRO

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you use Windows or Android, as it's Apple devices only, with no web version
  • Tight if you're staying free: one alert per event, and tasks, a second account, recurring events and typed entry all need PRO
  • Watch out: the 7-day trial rolls into a paid subscription unless you cancel
  • Watch out: the App Store lists yearly PRO at both $19.99 and $21.99, and Readdle says prices vary by region
  • Watch out: the $59.99 Lifetime option may still charge for some major future updates

Good to know

Good for

  • People on iPhone, iPad and Mac who want events and tasks in one planner
  • Google Workspace users who book rooms and check coworkers' schedules
  • Anyone who prefers typing events in plain language

Worth knowing

  • Apple devices only: the App Store listing covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision. No Windows, Android or web version is listed.
  • The free plan is a basic calendar; tasks, multiple accounts, recurring events, natural language input and weather need Calendars PRO.
  • Free users get one alert per event, while PRO allows up to five.
  • There is no Mac-only purchase: PRO is a single cross-platform subscription, and Readdle says its price varies by region and local taxes.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Calendars by Readdle you could make: calendar, tasks, natural-language input and habit tracking. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.0 is higher than 57 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade. It costs $19.99 a year.

What you could make

  • Calendar, tasks, natural-language input and habit tracking: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS and iOS that stay in step with each other.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, iCloud and Outlook among them.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app.
  • Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Calendars by Readdle’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.

Refunds and cancelling

BGrade

Good · checked Oct 18, 2026

It depends entirely on where you bought it, and the gap is wide. Buy from Readdle's website and the terms promise a full refund within 30 days on a yearly or lifetime plan and 14 days on a monthly one. Buy the subscription inside the app, which is how most people will, and Readdle says it cannot refund you at all: that is Apple's decision. Either way you have to write in rather than press a button, so it is a B.

Refund window
30 days
How you cancel
Yourself, in settings
Getting your money back

The terms say a subscription bought through Readdle's website can be cancelled and refunded within 14 days of purchase for a monthly plan, or 30 days for an annual or lifetime one, with a full refund to the same payment method once you contact Readdle. After that nothing is refunded unless the law requires it. For an App Store purchase the terms send you to Apple and say Readdle has no control over the decision.

Stated on readdle.com
How to cancel Calendars by Readdle

A subscription bought on Readdle's website, or inside the version of the app downloaded from it, is cancelled in the Stripe Customer Portal, reached from a link in the purchase confirmation email or from the app's settings. One bought through the App Store has to be cancelled manually in Apple Account settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period, and deleting the app does not cancel anything.

  1. For an App Store subscription, open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions
  3. Tap the subscription for the Calendars app
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription, scrolling down if you cannot see the button
  5. For a subscription bought on Readdle's website, open the Stripe Customer Portal from the confirmation email or the app's settings instead
Stated on readdle.com
What you keep afterwards

The terms say cancelling takes effect at the end of the current subscription period, does not close your account, and leaves you with the app's free functions. A help article describes the free plan as a basic calendar, with tasks, multiple accounts, recurring events, natural language input, weather and cross-device access all part of PRO. No page read covers exporting or deleting your data.

Stated on readdle.com
Renewals

The terms say a subscription renews automatically at the then-current rate unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the billing date, and that the rate at renewal may differ from what you first paid. The help article on the free trial says the same in practice: cancel at least a day before the trial ends or you are charged. No reminder before a renewal is mentioned.

Stated on readdle.com

In your favour

  • Buy on Readdle's website and the terms promise a full refund within 30 days on a yearly or lifetime plan.
  • There is a stated window for monthly website buyers too, at 14 days, not just for the yearly plan.
  • Cancelling leaves your account alone and you keep the free version of the app.
  • The help centre walks through cancelling on both iPhone and Mac, screen by screen.

Watch out for

  • Subscribed inside the app? Readdle says the refund is Apple's call and it cannot make one for you.
  • There is no refund button: you have to contact Readdle and ask, even inside the window.
  • Miss the 24 hours before the billing date and the renewal goes through at the then-current rate.
  • Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription, and Readdle warns about that in its terms.

Customer support

CGrade

Ordinary · checked Oct 18, 2026

A proper knowledge base for Calendars, written article by article with steps for iPhone and Mac, plus a form on Readdle's site that goes to the support team. That is a respectable amount for a calendar app. What's missing is any promise: no hours, no reply time beyond as soon as we can, and the help pages hand you to a chatbot rather than a person. That is where most apps sit, so a C.

Ways to get help

  • Email

The terms list an email address for general inquiries and a separate one for privacy questions, in the About Us block alongside Readdle's registered company details.

    Stated on readdle.com
  • Contact form or ticket

A support form on Readdle's website asking for your device, the product, a message and an optional file, which says the support team will get back to you as soon as possible. The Calendars help articles instead point you to a chatbot, opened from the icon at the bottom right of the page.

In your favour

  • The knowledge base is detailed and gives separate steps for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
  • Billing has a section of its own, covering subscribing, cancelling, refunds and restoring purchases.
  • The support form is open to anyone, free users included, with no sign-in needed.
  • Readdle's support page lets you pick the product first, so Calendars questions go to the right place.

Watch out for

  • No hours are stated anywhere, and no reply time beyond as soon as we can.
  • Help articles send you to a chatbot rather than offering to put you through to a person.
  • There is no live chat with an agent and no phone line on any page we read.
  • Billing problems with an App Store purchase end up with Apple, not with Readdle.

What these two grades rest on. Read on 18 October 2026: the Calendars terms of service and their sections on payment, subscription renewal and cancellation, refunds and termination; the knowledge-base articles on refund processes, on managing a subscription, on cancelling the free trial and on the free versus full version; the knowledge base's front page and Readdle's support page. Nobody here cancelled a plan or contacted its support. They are graded apart from the five that make the GPA. How we grade refunds and support.
