Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 6 of the 15 other email verification and deliverability tools we grade
Clearout cleans email lists, in bulk, one at a time or through an API, with a deeper check for catch-all addresses. The same credits pay for an email finder, Form Guard checks on sign-up forms, CRM monitoring and LinkedIn prospecting. It does not warm up inboxes or manage DMARC. Credits never expire and come with monthly or annual subscriptions, which roll unused credits over, or as one-off top-ups.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Clearout, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1
Best for checking and finding emails on one balance
It doesn't warm up inboxes or handle DMARC.
- 2
Paid plans start at $16 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $16 per month for 3,000 credits, billed annually.
- 3
You can try it first
100 free credits at sign-up that never expire, no card required
- 4
It runs on Web
Web, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Email verifier
Checks addresses one at a time, by file or through the API, charging a credit only for a definite result; Deep Verify resolves more catch-all addresses.
- 6
Form Guard
AI-based real-time checks of the email, phone and name entered in web forms, to block spam, bots and invalid sign-ups.
- 7
Data Pulse
Monitors contacts inside a CRM such as HubSpot and verifies and enriches them as they come in.
- 8
A 2.4 GPA, above 6 of 15
That is against the other email verification and deliverability tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card
Best for checking and finding emails on one balance
Clearout cleans lists and also finds work addresses, guards sign-up forms and checks new HubSpot contacts, all from one credit balance that rolls over. Pro is $32 a month billed yearly for 10,000 credits, cheap if you need that every month. It doesn't warm up inboxes or handle DMARC.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Pro is $32 a month billed yearly for 10,000 credits, shown against a crossed-out $40. Among its listed rivals only DeBounce's one-off $25 is lower, but Clearout's price needs a year's commitment, where Bouncer and Emailable sell 10,000 once for $60. |
| Free plan and trial | C | No free plan, but 100 free credits at sign-up with no card, and they never expire. It's a one-time grant, though, not a monthly allowance. |
| Features | C | It cleans lists fully, with Deep Verify for catch-alls, and the same credits buy an email finder, Form Guard, CRM monitoring and LinkedIn prospecting. No warm-up, placement tests or DMARC, though, and finding an email costs 4 credits. |
| Ease of use | B | No App Store rating on record, but checking needs nothing set up: one address, a file or a Google Sheet, and only a definite result uses a credit. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, a LinkedIn Chrome extension, a Google Sheets add-on and a WordPress plugin, with HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Make, Zapier and an API. No phone or desktop app. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Clearout is for
- Great if you want to find addresses and check them from one balance
- Handy when WordPress forms like WPForms or Gravity Forms let junk through
- Good for HubSpot users who want new contacts checked as they arrive
Who it is not for
- Tight if you only clean once, as the low prices come with a subscription
- Skip it if you need warm-up or DMARC tools as well
Good to know
Good for
- Teams that want verification and an email finder on one balance
- WordPress sites checking sign-ups on popular form plugins
- HubSpot users who want new contacts checked automatically
Worth knowing
- The free 100 credits are a one-time grant, not a monthly allowance.
- Monthly billing saves 10% on the one-time price, against 20% for annual; only the annual prices show by default.
- Finding an email costs 4 credits (2 for role addresses) and form checks 2 credits per field, so non-verification work uses credits faster.
- Clearout verifies and finds addresses; it has no warm-up, inbox placement or DMARC tools.

Keep it
Nothing Clearout does is plain enough to make in a weekend. The 3 things listed below take a company.
It costs $192 a year.
What you could not
- Checking that an address exists without writing to it.
- It plugs into other products, HubSpot, Salesforce and Mailchimp among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
What this rests on. Clearout’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
