Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 4 of the 48 other CRM tools we grade

Covve is a personal CRM app for keeping professional and personal relationships warm. It syncs with the phone's address book, reminds you when to reach out, logs notes after calls, shows news about your contacts and scans business cards into contacts. Notes, interactions and reminders are end-to-end encrypted. The app is free to install on iPhone, iPad and Android, with a paid Covve Pro subscription sold inside the app.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Covve, taken from its own pages and our grades.

And neither its store listing nor its help center says where free stops or which of five Pro prices you'll pay.
From our report card of Covve

  3. 3

The app is free to install on iPhone, iPad and Android. Covve's store listing and help center do not say which features require the paid Covve Pro subscription.

The report card

Best for keeping in touch with people, from your phone

Covve is a personal CRM for your phone that reminds you to get in touch, asks for a note after each call, scans business cards and encrypts your notes. It has no deals, no pipelines and no web app. And neither its store listing nor its help center says where free stops or which of five Pro prices you'll pay.

ToolGPA report cardCovveGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCCovve Pro shows on the US App Store at $4.99 and $12.99 a month and at $49.99, $79.99 and $119.99 a year, without saying which a new subscriber pays. Set against the personal CRMs it lists as rivals, Mesh at $10 and Dex at $12, that's the middle of the range, and nobody will tell you what Pro adds.
Free plan and trialCThe app is free to install on iPhone, iPad and Android, and Pro is sold inside it. But neither the store listing nor Covve's help centre says which features need Pro, so you can't know what the free version keeps until you're in it.
FeaturesCReminders at a pace you set per person, a log of the calls, texts and emails you start from the app, news about your contacts, a card scanner and an AI assistant. It covers the staying-in-touch job, and that's a smaller job than a CRM's: no deals, no pipelines, and contacts arrive only from your phone or by hand.
Ease of useB4.5 from about 630 App Store ratings, which is the bottom of our B band. It works off the address book already on your phone, so there's no import job. Do save the 9-word encryption key, because Covve says it can't recover your notes without it.
Platforms and integrationsCiPhone, iPad and Android, and that's about it. There's no web app, and on a Mac you install the iPhone and iPad app, which needs an Apple M-series chip. It syncs with Google Contacts, iCloud and Microsoft Exchange, with no API on record.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Covve is for

  • Fits if you want reminders to call the people you'd otherwise lose touch with
  • Works for people who collect paper business cards and want them scanned into contacts

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you work at a desk all day: there's no web app, and the Mac version needs an M-series chip
  • Not for you if you want the price up front, as the App Store lists five and doesn't say which is yours
  • Watch out: nobody says which features need Pro, so you only learn what free keeps once you're in
  • Too light for a sales team that needs deals and pipelines
  • Tight if your contacts live in a spreadsheet, as they can only come from your phone, a scanned card or typing

Good to know

Good for

  • Professionals who want reminders to stay in touch with their network
  • People who manage their contacts mainly from a phone
  • Users who want notes about contacts encrypted end to end

Worth knowing

  • Mobile only: there is no web app, and Mac access means installing the iPhone and iPad app on a Mac with an Apple M-series chip.
  • The App Store lists several Covve Pro prices ($4.99 and $12.99 monthly; $49.99 to $119.99 annually) without saying which applies to new subscribers.
  • Contacts cannot be imported directly; they come from an address book synced with the phone, a scanned card or manual entry.
  • The plans on covve.com/pricing are for Covve's separate business card scanner, not for the personal CRM app.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Covve you could make: notes. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 30 of the 48 other CRM tools grade higher. It costs $49.99 a year.

What you could make

  • Notes: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • End-to-end encryption done properly.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: widgets.

What this rests on. Covve’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
