What is Directory Opus?
Directory Opus is a file manager for Windows from GP Software that can take over from Windows Explorer. It offers single or dual file displays with folder trees and tabs, queued copying, batch renaming, FTP and archive support, a duplicate finder and folder synchronization. Toolbars, menus, hotkeys and colors can be reworked, and a scripting interface adds custom commands. Licences are perpetual and priced in Australian dollars, with optional yearly renewals for updates.

Worth knowing
- Windows only: it is supported on x64 versions of Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, and ARM is not currently supported.

- Advanced FTP and USB Export are optional add-ons, and the default 30-day evaluation does not enable Advanced FTP.
- The vendor's licensing FAQ says there are no refunds after purchase and suggests evaluating for up to 60 days first.
