Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 48 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

Dona is a to-do list that runs in the browser, made by a three-person team that describes it as a back-to-basics app built around a fast interface. Tasks are grouped into lists that can each have an emoji and a color, and the web app's settings cover light, dark and black themes, a compact view and keyboard shortcuts you can reassign. An account is free to create, and the site lists no paid plan.

To get you started, here are 8 things to know about Dona, taken from its own pages and our grades.

No rating on record, but there is nothing to set up: sign up, make a list, type.

The report card

Best for a plain to-do list in a browser tab

Dona is a web to-do list with the extras left out: lists get an emoji and a color, there are light, dark and black themes, and you can set your own keyboard shortcuts. It's free, and the site names no paid plan. But we found no mention of reminders, repeating tasks or sharing, there's no phone app, and the site has no help pages and a footer dated 2023.

ToolGPA report cardDonaGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyBFree, with no paid plan named anywhere and no pricing page at all. You're not paying, but you're not getting much either, and nothing on the site says what the limits are or whether a price is coming.
Free plan and trialAA free account gets the whole web app, as far as its own pages show. No trial clock, no card, no upgrade button to dodge. Sign in with an email or with Google.
FeaturesDLists, due dates, notes, search and a JSON export, and that's the lot. The site and the app's own text mention no reminders, no repeating tasks and no sharing, which is most of what a to-do app is for.
Ease of useBNo rating on record, but there is nothing to set up: sign up, make a list, type. Shortcuts can be reassigned and the hints can be shown or hidden. There's no help centre, mind, just a homepage and an about page.
Platforms and integrationsCWeb only. The site links to the web app and lists no desktop or mobile apps, no integrations and no API. The interface comes in English and German.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Dona is for

  • Fits if you want a list in a browser tab and nothing else
  • Works for people who want to set their own keyboard shortcuts and themes, down to true black

Who it is not for

  • Too light for anyone who needs reminders or repeating tasks, as neither is mentioned
  • Skip it if you want an app on your phone, because it's a website only
  • Not for you if you share lists with other people, since sharing isn't mentioned anywhere on its site
  • Watch out: there's no pricing page, so limits or a future paid plan are undocumented
  • Watch out: the site is a homepage and an about page with a 2023 footer, and no help center or changelog

Good to know

Good for

  • People who want a plain to-do list in the browser
  • Users who care about interface polish and theming
  • Keyboard users who like to set their own shortcuts

Worth knowing

  • The site links only to the web app at app.dona.ai and lists no desktop or mobile apps.
  • There is no pricing page: the site says only Try for free and Sign up for free, so any limits or future paid plans are undocumented.
  • The marketing site is a homepage and an about page with a footer dated 2023, and has no help center, changelog or feature documentation.
  • The site and the web app's interface text mention no reminders, recurring tasks or sharing with other people.
