Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.4

GPA, above 8 of the 43 other habit trackers we grade

Fabulous is a habit and routine coaching app for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. It groups habits into morning, afternoon and evening routines and introduces them through guided programs it calls Journeys, alongside challenges, coaching audio, journaling and meditation. A free version can be used for as long as you like, and Fabulous Premium unlocks all content plus unlimited habits and routines.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Fabulous, taken from its own pages and our grades.

You don't have to design anything either: pick a Journey and it decides what you're adding and when.

The report card

Best for guided routines built one habit at a time

Fabulous is a guided-routine app more than a tracker: programs called Journeys add one small habit at a time to a morning, afternoon or evening routine. The pricing is murky. Nothing is published on the website, App Store purchases run from $16.99 to $59.99 mostly without billing periods, many plans start at an introductory price and renew higher, and the trial needs a payment method. It's phones only.

ToolGPA report cardFabulousGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCThe annual is $49.99, about $4.17 a month, which lands in the middle band of this category. But nothing is priced on the website at all, the quarterly at $39.99 works out at $13.33 a month, and the help pages say many plans start at an introductory price and renew higher.
Free plan and trialCThe free version never expires, but it's a sampler: a selection of Journeys, Challenges and Guided Activities. Unlimited habits and routines, all the coaching sessions, progress backup and full Circles access are Premium.
FeaturesBIt covers the whole job: habits stacked into morning, afternoon and evening routines, guided Journeys, challenges, an on-demand coaching library, community Circles, a journal and gratitude journal, to-do list, short workouts, breathing and meditation. Bookable human coaching sits alongside it.
Ease of useB4.4 on the App Store from about 89,000 ratings, which earns a B on our ladder at that sort of volume. You don't have to design anything either: pick a Journey and it decides what you're adding and when.
Platforms and integrationsCPhones only: iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. There's no web app and no desktop version, as HabitatZero for Mac and Windows is a separate product, and nothing on record that it connects to.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.4

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Fabulous is for

  • Fits if you want a guided program rather than a blank habit list
  • Works for building a morning or evening routine one small habit at a time

  • Watch out: many plans start at an introductory price and renew higher, and the quarterly plan works out at $13.33 a month
  • Tight if you stay free, because unlimited habits and routines, coaching sessions, progress backup and full Circles are Premium
  • Not for you if you just want to tick off your own habits, as the app is built around coaching
  • Not for you if you want it on a laptop, as it's phones only and the desktop HabitatZero is a separate product

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Fabulous you could make: habit tracking, goals and daily notes. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 25 of the 43 other habit trackers grade higher.

What you could make

  • Habit tracking, goals and daily notes: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • People on the other end: coaches. No app builder makes those.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Fabulous’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
