Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 16 of the 24 other presentation tools we grade
Figma Slides is the presentation tool inside Figma, aimed at designers and the teams they work with. Decks are built in a simple slide editor or in Design Mode with Figma's layout tools, and can hold live, clickable prototypes alongside polls and voting. It is not sold separately: Slides comes with every seat on every Figma plan, including the free Starter plan.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Figma Slides, taken from its own pages and our grades.
No App Store rating on record, and you're still building the deck yourself.
- 1
Best for decks from design teams who live in Figma
If you've never opened Figma, we'd start elsewhere.
- 2
Paid plans start at $3 a month for each person
As its pricing page puts it: $3 per Collab seat / month, billed annually (Professional).
- 3
There is a free plan
Starter plan: free, limited access to Figma products, Slides included, with unlimited drafts, UI kits and templates, and 150 AI credits a day up to 500 a month.
- 4
It runs on 5 platforms
Web, macOS, Windows, iOS and Android.
- 5
Slide editor and Design Mode
Decks are shaped in a simple slide interface, with a switch to Design Mode for Auto Layout, the layers panel and advanced properties. Existing Figma designs can be dropped straight in.
- 6
Live prototypes in slides
Playable Figma Design prototypes and live objects sit on a slide, so the audience can click through a product during the talk or view it afterward.
- 7
Polls, voting and alignment scale
Built-in audience tools collect feedback through live polls and voting, and the Alignment scale shows where a team agrees. Responses are saved to the deck automatically.
- 8
A 2.8 GPA, above 16 of 24
That is against the other presentation tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9

The report card
Best for decks from design teams who live in Figma
Figma Slides is Figma's presentation tool: you can drop real designs onto a slide and put a clickable prototype there for the audience to try, from $3 a seat a month. But you can't buy it on its own, free View seats can't make decks, the phone apps only view and comment, the AI only rewrites text and drafts notes, and Design Mode is a learning curve. If you've never opened Figma, we'd start elsewhere.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | A Collab seat on Professional is $3 a month billed annually and covers Slides, FigJam and Figma Buzz. Presentation tools here start at $5.83 in the lower quarter and $9.99 in the middle, so $3 is under 60% of the low end. A Full seat with Figma Design is $16, but decks don't need one. |
| Free plan and trial | B | Slides comes with the free Starter plan: unlimited drafts, UI kits, templates and 150 AI credits a day up to 500 a month. One person can live on that. Figma only calls Starter limited access, so our listing can't say where every wall sits. |
| Features | C | The slide job is covered, and a playable prototype on a slide is something no rival here does, along with polls that save answers into the deck. The listing names the gaps, though: Dev seats get no Design Mode, the AI only rewrites text and drafts notes rather than building a deck, and the phone apps cannot edit. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record, and you're still building the deck yourself. The slide view is deliberately simple, but Design Mode brings Auto Layout and a layers panel, which is a learning curve unless you already know Figma. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, but the phone apps only view and comment, so editing means a computer. The connections are mostly Figma's own tools, plus PowerPoint import and export, and a deck can be pre-loaded to present offline. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Figma Slides is for
- Fits if your designs are already in Figma and you want them on slides without screenshots
- Works for product demos where the audience clicks through a real prototype
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want a slide app and nothing else, as Slides only comes with a Figma seat
- Not for you if you fix slides on your phone, because the mobile apps can't edit decks
- Too light for people wanting AI to build the whole deck, since its AI rewrites text and drafts notes
- Watch out: Figma only calls Starter limited access, so where the free plan's walls sit isn't on record
- Tight if you're on a Dev seat, as it can make slides but has no Design Mode
Good to know
Good for
- Design teams that already work in Figma
- Presentations that include live, clickable product prototypes
- Turning a FigJam brainstorm into a deck outline
Worth knowing
- Figma Slides cannot be bought on its own; it comes with a Figma seat, and View seats, which are free, cannot create decks.
- The iOS and Android apps can view and comment on slide decks but cannot edit them.
- Dev seats can create slides but have no access to Design Mode.
- Professional prices here are for annual billing; Figma's help center example puts a Dev seat at $15 a month on monthly billing against $12.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Figma Slides you could make: templates. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.8 is higher than 16 of the 24 other presentation tools we grade. It costs $36 a year.
What you could make
- Templates: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- A slide editor.
- Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- Several people working in it at the same moment.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
What this rests on. Figma Slides’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
