Glimpse review (2026): is it worth it?
Google Trends add-on with absolute search volume and trend discovery

Glimpse report card
Fair · out of 4.0 · graded Oct 23, 2026
Best for real search numbers on top of Google Trends
Glimpse turns Google Trends' 0 to 100 lines into search counts through a browser extension, and adds growth rates, a forecast and where a topic is being talked about. But no price is published, the free plan's limits aren't either, and the volumes are Glimpse's own estimates. The extension is named for Chrome and Edge only, so skip it if you want to know the cost before a sales call.
Who Glimpse is for
- Fits if you already use Google Trends and want search counts instead of an index
- Works for analysts who want trend data in their own dashboards through an API
Who Glimpse is not for
- Skip it if you want to know the price before you talk to anyone, as none is published
- Too light for choosing keywords for a page, as it tracks trends rather than difficulty
- Not for you if you browse in Safari or Firefox, as the vendor names Chrome and Edge for the extension
- Watch out: the volumes are Glimpse's own estimates, fitted to Google Trends' relative movements
- Watch out: the free plan's limits aren't published, so you can't tell where it stops
Why Glimpse gets a 2.4
Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.
- CValue for moneyNo price is published anywhere we could read. Sign-up is free, and past that the site only offers to book a demo, so the price is only given on a sales call. That leaves nothing to weigh against this category's $17 middle.
- CFree plan and trialSigning up is free, but Glimpse doesn't publish what the free plan includes, so we can't tell you where its limits are. Paid plans sit above it, unpriced.
- CFeaturesAbsolute search volume on Google Trends going back 20+ years, rising trends by niche, a one-year forecast, channel breakdowns and alerts. It does trend research fully, but that's a smaller job, and the volumes are Glimpse's own estimates.
- BEase of useNo rating on record. Much of it is a browser extension that adds numbers to Google Trends pages, so you install it and keep searching the way you already do.
- BPlatforms and integrationsWeb plus an extension for Chrome and Edge, with no desktop or phone app. There's an API for interest and volume over time, and a Google Sheets link.

Keep Glimpse, or make your own?
Keep it
To replace Glimpse you would be making search volumes for millions of keywords, gathered and kept up to date. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
What you could not
- Search volumes for millions of keywords, gathered and kept up to date.
- It plugs into other products, Google Trends and Google Sheets among them, and has an API.
What this rests on. Glimpse’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
What is Glimpse?
Glimpse adds absolute search volume, growth rates, seasonality and a one-year forecast to Google Trends through a browser extension, and runs a trend discovery database on its own site. It also shows which social channels a topic is discussed on and sends alerts when tracked keywords rise or fall. An API returns the same search volume and interest data for other tools.
Worth knowing
- Glimpse publishes no pricing page, so the cost of its paid plans could not be confirmed.
- Much of it works as a browser extension on top of Google Trends; the vendor names Chrome and Edge.
- Its search volumes are Glimpse's own figures, calibrated to match the relative movements in Google Trends.
