Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

3.0

GPA, above 17 of the 34 other SEO browser extensions we grade

GSC Helper is a free Chrome extension from searchanalyzer.io that works inside Google Search Console. It charts performance by week, month or quarter with Google updates overlaid, keeps index coverage history beyond three months, adds annotations, RegEx filters and query n-grams, and merges crawl stats and indexing reports. It reads the data on screen and processes it in your browser, with no login for core features.

To get you started, here are 7 things to know about GSC Helper, taken from its own pages and our grades.

No rating on record, but it sits inside the Search Console you already use and needs no login or API key for its core features.

The report card

Best for charts, notes and filters inside Search Console

GSC Helper adds weekly, monthly and quarterly charts with Google updates, index history past three months, annotations, RegEx filters, n-grams and bulk exports to Google Search Console, for free and with no login for its core features. It works only inside Search Console on properties you can access, it's Chrome only, and the FAQ says figures can show wrongly after switching views until you refresh.

Who GSC Helper is for

  • Fits if you spend your days in Search Console and keep exporting it to spreadsheets
  • Works for agencies pinning site changes against traffic on client properties

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you don't have access to the site's Search Console property, as it works nowhere else
  • Too light for page checks, since it reads Search Console reports and checks nothing on a page
  • Watch out: the FAQ says figures can show wrongly after switching views or properties until you refresh
  • Not for you if you're not on Chrome, and the developer hasn't identified itself as a trader, so EU consumer rights don't apply

Good to know

Good for

  • SEOs who live in Search Console and are tired of exporting to spreadsheets
  • Tracking indexing trends past Search Console's three-month limit
  • Agencies annotating client site changes against traffic

Worth knowing

  • It works only inside Google Search Console and needs access to the properties you analyze.
  • It is available for Chrome only, the vendor's page says.
  • Data can show wrongly after switching views or properties until the page is refreshed, the FAQ notes.
  • The store notes the developer has not identified itself as a trader, so EU consumer rights do not apply.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

GSC Helper is free, so making your own would save you nothing.

What you could make

  • Reports: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • A tracking script and a database that counts every visit.
