Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.0
GPA, above 5 of the 51 other AI agents we grade
Gumloop is a platform for building AI agents that use a company's connected tools and data, and for running them on triggers, schedules or through an API. Agents can be shared across an organization and used in the web app, in Slack and Microsoft Teams, and in Gmail. The Pro plan is a flat monthly price with unlimited seats and a pool of usage credits, and Enterprise adds admin, security and compliance controls.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Gumloop, taken from its own pages and our grades.
It's pitched at non-engineers building their own agents, and a finished one is used by @mentioning it in Slack.
- 1
Best for team-built agents on one shared bill
On your own it's a lot to pay, and audit logs and access roles are Enterprise only.
- 2
Paid plans start at $37 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $37 per month (Pro, including 20,000 credits).
- 3
You can try it first
14-day free trial of Pro; requires a card and converts to a paid subscription unless canceled
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Agents on your tools and data
Agents work across more than 300 connectors and shared company knowledge, with a choice of 35+ models or your own model API keys.
- 6
Triggers, schedules and API
App triggers and recurring schedules start agents automatically, and a REST API can run them from other systems.
- 7
Skills
Agents write reusable playbooks called skills, which can be shared across a team and synced with GitHub.
- 8
A 2.0 GPA, above 5 of 51
That is against the other AI agents we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

Keep it
To replace Gumloop you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for team-built agents on one shared bill
Gumloop is an agent builder for teams: $37 a month covers unlimited seats drawing on one pool of 20,000 credits, and agents answer in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Gmail. There's no free plan, the 14-day trial wants a card and bills you unless you cancel, credits don't roll over, and usage carries an 8% fee, 16% on your own keys. On your own it's a lot to pay, and audit logs and access roles are Enterprise only.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | D | The only self-serve plan is $37 a month, well above the $23 or so that agent tools here start at, with 20,000 credits that don't roll over and an 8% orchestration fee on usage, or 16% on your own model keys. Unlimited seats bring the cost per head down for a team; one person pays the full $37. |
| Free plan and trial | D | No free plan at all. New accounts get one 14-day Pro trial, it asks for a card, and it turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel. Put a reminder in your calendar. |
| Features | B | It covers the job: agents across more than 300 connectors and your shared company knowledge, on 35-plus models or your own keys, started by app triggers, schedules or a REST API, with reusable skills that sync to GitHub and four levels of sharing. Access roles, audit logs and exports are Enterprise only. |
| Ease of use | C | It's pitched at non-engineers building their own agents, and a finished one is used by @mentioning it in Slack. Getting there means connecting tools, building the agent and watching a shared credit pool, and there's no rating on record. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | A web app, with agents usable in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Gmail, more than 300 connectors and a REST API. No phone or desktop app on the listing. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Gumloop is for
- Fits if you want people who aren't engineers to build their own agents
- Works for teams that would rather pay one flat price than count seats
Who it is not for
- Not for you if you want to try it without a card, as the 14-day trial needs one and then bills you
- Pricey if you're one person, at $37 a month where a team would be splitting the same bill
- Skip it if you need audit logs, access roles, SAML or data exports, which are Enterprise only
- Watch out: credits don't roll over, agents stop at 20,000 unless pay-as-you-go is on, and there's an 8% fee, 16% on your own keys
- Skip it if you want a phone or desktop app, as Gumloop is a web app used through Slack, Teams and Gmail
Good to know
Good for
- Teams that want non-engineers to build their own agents
- Companies that prefer unlimited seats on one shared credit pool
- Agents that answer in Slack or Microsoft Teams
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan: new accounts get a one-time 14-day Pro trial that requires a card and converts to paid unless canceled.
- Pro credits do not roll over, and agents stop at 20,000 credits a month unless pay-as-you-go is switched on.
- Bringing your own model API key removes token costs but raises the orchestration fee from 8% to 16%.
- Role-based access control, SCIM and SAML, audit logs, the admin dashboard and data exports are limited to Enterprise.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Gumloop you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 40 of the 51 other AI agents grade higher. It costs $444 a year.
What you could not
- An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
- Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
- A builder that other people can use without writing code.
- What a company asks for before it lets staff use something: roles and permissions.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Gumloop’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
