Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.8

GPA, above 25 of the 43 other habit trackers we grade

HelloHabit is a habit tracker and task manager from RightLife, Inc. for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and the web. Habits have daily, weekly, monthly or yearly targets with reminders, streaks, timers and quit trackers, and sit alongside task lists and a rich-text journal. The app is free to download; HelloHabit Premium is sold through in-app purchases, and the vendor's pages do not say where the free version stops.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about HelloHabit, taken from its own pages and our grades.

A lifetime buy doesn't cover cloud features.
From our report card of HelloHabit

The report card

Best for habits, tasks and a journal on every device

HelloHabit combines a habit tracker, a to-do list, quit trackers and a journal, and runs on iPhone, Android, Mac and the web. But RightLife publishes no prices and doesn't say where free stops: the App Store lists Premium at five amounts from $4.99 to $49.99 with no billing period, plus a $59.99 Plus item nobody explains. A lifetime buy doesn't cover cloud features. If you want the price up front, look elsewhere.

ToolGPA report cardHelloHabitGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCNo prices on the website at all. The App Store lists Premium at $4.99, $9.99, $14.99, $29.99 and $49.99 with no billing periods, and a separate Plus item at $59.99 with no description, so there's no figure here to compare against the $3.33 this category charges in the middle.
Free plan and trialCFree to download and use, and nobody will tell you where it stops: the vendor's site, terms and store listings all skip the question of what Premium begins at. The terms do describe a free trial that leads into an auto-renewing subscription.
FeaturesBIt covers habits and two other jobs: daily, weekly, monthly or yearly targets from hundreds of suggestions, task lists by project and priority, streaks and records, stopwatch and countdown timers, quit trackers, a journal with formatted text, and Apple Health.
Ease of useA4.9 on the App Store from about 3,200 ratings, which is an A on our ladder. You can pick a habit from hundreds of suggestions and log entries for days you missed.
Platforms and integrationsBiPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and the web, all synced. But Apple Health is the only thing it connects to, and there's no API on record.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.8

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who HelloHabit is for

  • Fits if you want habits, a to-do list and a journal in the same app
  • Works for people who move between iPhone, Android, a Mac and a web browser

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want to know the price first, as Premium is listed at five amounts with no billing period
  • Not for you if you need the free limits spelled out, because the vendor doesn't state them
  • Tight if you'd buy lifetime for the cloud features, since the terms only cover on-device ones
  • Watch out: a $59.99 Plus item sits in the store list with no word on how it differs from Premium
  • Watch out: the free trial leads into an auto-renewing subscription, and its length only shows in the app

Good to know

Good for

  • People who want habits and a to-do list in the same app
  • Tracking across a mix of iPhone, Android, Mac and a web browser
  • Quitting a habit, with a counter of the time since stopping

Worth knowing

  • The vendor's pages do not state what the free version includes or where Premium begins.
  • The vendor's site shows no prices, and the US App Store lists Premium at five amounts from $4.99 to $49.99 without billing periods.
  • A lifetime purchase, where offered, covers on-device Premium features; the terms do not guarantee features that rely on server, cloud, API or AI technology.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A habit tracker at its plainest is a list of habits, a tick for each day and a count of the streak.

You could make the core of HelloHabit for yourself: habit tracking, tasks, goals and daily notes. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call.

What you could make

  • Habit tracking, tasks, goals and daily notes: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. HelloHabit’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
