Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 0 of the 13 other website and product analytics tools we grade

LogRocket records sessions in web and mobile apps and pairs each replay with the console logs, network requests and errors behind it, so developers and product teams can see why something broke. It also covers funnels, heatmaps, path analysis and surveys, and its Galileo AI summarizes sessions and flags issues. Plans are priced by the sessions you capture, while analytics events, errors and logs are unlimited.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about LogRocket, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for debugging what broke in a user's session

Analytics events, errors and logs are unlimited.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $83 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $83 per month for 10,000 sessions, billed annually (Core).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Free forever at up to 1,000 sessions a month, as shown on the pricing calculator.

  4. 4

    It runs on Web

    Web.

  5. 5

    Session replay with technical context

Each replay shows the console logs, network requests and errors from that session, for web and mobile apps.

  6. 6

    Error and performance monitoring

Unlimited error events on every plan, with frontend performance monitoring and alerts tied back to the sessions affected.

  7. 7

    Product analytics

Conversion funnels, path analysis, and click, heat and rage-click maps, with unlimited analytics events on every plan.

  8. 8

    A 2.2 GPA, above 0 of 13

That is against the other website and product analytics tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

The plain part of LogRocket you could make: surveys. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card

Best for debugging what broke in a user's session

LogRocket pairs every replay with the console logs, network calls and errors behind it, so developers can see why something broke, not just that it did. Analytics events, errors and logs are unlimited. But you pay by session from early on: the free plan stops at 1,000, and 10,000 sessions is $83 a month on yearly billing.

ToolGPA report cardLogRocketGraded Oct 18, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyD$83 a month billed yearly for 10,000 sessions on Core, about what a 10,000-visitor site needs. Graded against the replay tools it's listed beside, that's dear: Fullstory and Clarity record that many for nothing. Unlimited errors and logs are what the money buys.
Free plan and trialCFree forever up to 1,000 sessions a month, which a busy site passes in days, plus a 14-day trial of everything with no card. Fine for a side project, not for a real product.
FeaturesBReplays with logs, network calls and errors, performance monitoring, funnels, path analysis, and heat and rage-click maps, with unlimited analytics events. The whole replay job, done for developers. Galileo AI and role-based access need Pro at $292.
Ease of useCNo rating on record. Setting it up means adding its SDK to your app, and it's built for developers reading logs and network calls, so non-technical teams will need a hand getting started.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb only, no desktop or phone app, though it records web and mobile apps. It connects to Jira, Zendesk, Intercom, Salesforce, Segment, Sentry, GitHub and Linear, and has an API.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who LogRocket is for

  • Great if your engineers keep failing to reproduce bugs that users report
  • Handy when support tickets need the logs and network calls behind them
  • Good for regulated companies that need replays kept on their own servers

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you just want replays, at $83 a month for 10,000 sessions on yearly billing
  • Tight if you stay free, with 1,000 sessions a month
  • Skip it if you're a marketer who wants heatmaps without the developer tools

Good to know

Good for

  • Engineering teams reproducing bugs that users report
  • Product teams finding where users struggle in a web app
  • Regulated companies that need replay data kept on their own servers

Worth knowing

  • Prices on the calculator are annual figures shown per month; the page says the final price also depends on seats, retention length and add-ons.
  • Core is sold only below 100,000 sessions a month; above that Pro is required, and from 4 million sessions Enterprise.
  • Galileo AI features, role-based access and audit logs need Pro; streaming data export and self-hosting need Enterprise.
  • Billing is monthly by default, according to the FAQ; annual pre-payment at a discount is arranged through sales.

Its grades against its category, and whether to keep it or make your own

0/13

LogRocket's GPA of 2.2 is higher than 0 of the 13 other website and product analytics tools we grade, and level with 1.

It stands best on features (B, above 4 of 13) and worst on value for money (D, above 0).

Its paid plans start at $83 a month, against a middle price of $39 for the category: 5 of the 6 others that charge start lower.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of LogRocket you could make: surveys. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 12 of the 13 other website and product analytics tools grade higher. It costs $996 a year.

What you could make

  • Surveys: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • Recordings of what each visitor did on your pages.
  • A tracking script and a database that counts every visit.
  • It plugs into other products, Jira, Zendesk and Intercom among them, and has an API.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. LogRocket’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
