Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.6
GPA, above 27 of the 51 other AI agents we grade
MuleRun is a general-purpose AI agent that takes a task described in chat, plans the steps, calls tools and returns finished files such as reports, slides, spreadsheets and websites. Paid plans give each user a persistent cloud computer that stays online, keeps its files and runs scheduled tasks. A Chrome extension lets the agent work in your own browser with the accounts you are already signed in to, and usage is metered in credits at 100 credits to the dollar.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about MuleRun, taken from its own pages and our grades.
You type what you want in a chat box and watch the plan, the tool calls and the questions as it works.
- 1
Best for an agent with its own always-on cloud computer

As its pricing page puts it: $16 per month, billed yearly ($20 billed monthly).
- 3

A persistent cloud machine with its own disk and workspace that stays online, is backed up daily and can be rolled back. Plus, Super and Pro differ mainly in its cores and memory.
- 7
Scheduled Tasks
Recurring prompts run on your Computer hourly, daily, weekly or at a custom interval and deliver results to MuleRun or a connected messaging channel. Requires Plus or above.
- 8
A 2.6 GPA, above 27 of 51
That is against the other AI agents we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace MuleRun you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for an agent with its own always-on cloud computer
MuleRun is a general agent that takes a task in chat and comes back with a report, slides or a website, and on paid plans you get your own cloud computer that stays on and runs scheduled jobs. The free plan has no monthly credits, stops at 5 published pages and leaves out both the computer and Scheduled Tasks. It lives in the browser with no desktop or phone app, the only connections listed are chat apps and Chrome, and team prices aren't published.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Plus is $16 a month billed yearly, or $20 monthly, which comes in under what agent tools here start at. It buys 2,000 credits a month, counted at 100 credits to the dollar, plus your own cloud computer with 2 cores and 4 GB of RAM. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free refreshes 200 credits a day rather than giving a one-off, but there are no monthly credits, you stop at 5 published pages, and the two things MuleRun is for, Scheduled Tasks and the always-on computer, both need Plus. |
| Features | C | A task described in chat with every step visible, a cloud computer backed up daily with rollback, jobs that repeat hourly or weekly, a Chrome connector working in your own signed-in tabs and sites published with a database. What's missing is the other tools you use: the only connections listed are chat apps and Chrome. |
| Ease of use | B | You type what you want in a chat box and watch the plan, the tool calls and the questions as it works. Nothing to install unless you want the Chrome extension, and no accounts to wire up first. No rating on record. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | It runs in the browser, with a Chrome extension and a command-line tool, and results can go to Telegram, Discord, Lark, WeChat or WhatsApp. No desktop or phone app is listed. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who MuleRun is for
- Fits if you want to hand off research, reports, slides or data analysis as whole tasks
- Works for a daily briefing that should run on a cloud computer while you're offline
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free, with no monthly credits, 5 published pages and no scheduled tasks
- Skip it if you want a desktop or phone app, as it lives in the browser and its iOS legal pages are archived
- Not for you if you need a team price up front, since Team and Enterprise list none
- Watch out: e-commerce and social media data sources are for paid, Team and Enterprise accounts only
- Too light for work inside your other apps, as the only connections listed are chat apps and Chrome
Good to know
Good for
- Handing off research, reports, slides and data analysis as whole tasks
- Recurring jobs such as daily briefings that should run while you are offline
- Web tasks that need your own logged-in browser sessions
Worth knowing
- The Free plan has no monthly credits, only the sign-up and daily bonus credits, and the docs say Scheduled Tasks need Plus or above.
- Team and Enterprise are listed on the pricing page without prices; Enterprise goes through sales.
- The site lists no desktop or mobile app: it runs in the browser, with a Chrome extension and a command-line tool. Its iOS app legal pages are marked archived.
- E-commerce and social media data sources are limited to paid, Team and Enterprise accounts.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace MuleRun you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It costs $192 a year.
What you could not
- An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
- Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
- A tool that builds and hosts other apps.
- A library of papers and sources to search.
What this rests on. MuleRun’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
