Paychex publishes no refund policy and no page telling a payroll client how to get out. The website terms you can read cover only the use of paychex.com and hand everything about fees and termination to each client's own Paychex Services Agreement, which is not published. The one agreement that is published, for the separate PEO service, wants written notice at the end of a term and charges fees for leaving. Readable terms that say nothing about refunds or leaving are a D.

No Paychex page read says how a Paychex Flex payroll client ends the service. The only service agreement Paychex publishes covers its separate PEO service: that one says you can terminate for convenience at the end of any term by giving the written notice set out in the signed packet, that a transition fee applies unless you give that notice, and that ending it mid-term brings an early termination fee.

This is the strongest part of Paychex by a distance. Clients get published phone lines by service, a chat inside Paychex Flex for anything urgent, a support request form and a help centre of articles and guides. The contact page says Paychex is available around the clock. Two caveats keep it honest: the help centre sits behind a login, and the only hours the FAQ actually answers with are the sales team's.
