Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.0
GPA, above 3 of the 24 other presentation tools we grade
Plus AI is an add-on for Google Slides and PowerPoint that generates presentations from a prompt or an uploaded document and edits existing slides with AI. Because it works inside those apps, the output is a native Google Slides or PowerPoint file that keeps working with existing templates. One subscription covers both add-ons, and an API, a Zapier integration and an MCP server create decks from other tools.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Plus AI, taken from its own pages and our grades.
There's nothing to set up: you add it to the Google Slides or PowerPoint you already use and carry on working there.
- 1
Best for AI slides inside Google Slides and PowerPoint
If you don't already work in Slides or PowerPoint, look elsewhere.
- 2
Paid plans start at $10 a month for each person
As its pricing page puts it: $10 per user / month, billed annually.
- 3
You can try it first
7-day free trial of any paid plan with 1,000 AI credits; a credit card is required
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Generate from a prompt or a file
A few sentences, a preset, or an uploaded PDF, Word, PowerPoint or text file becomes a full deck created directly in Google Slides or PowerPoint. File uploads need the Pro plan.
- 6
Insert, Rewrite and Remix
Insert adds a single slide in a chosen layout, Rewrite summarizes, expands or changes tone, and Remix reformats existing content into a different slide design.
- 7
AI credits
Using the AI agent draws on a monthly credit limit per user, from 1,500 on Basic to 6,000 on Team. A typical task uses 40 to 170 credits, and limits reset on the billing date.
- 8
A 2.0 GPA, above 3 of 24
That is against the other presentation tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
The plain part of Plus AI you could make: templates. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card
Best for AI slides inside Google Slides and PowerPoint
Plus AI is an add-on that generates slides inside Google Slides and PowerPoint, so the output is a normal file in your own template, and one subscription covers both. There's no free plan, the 7-day trial needs a credit card, document uploads need Pro at $20 a month, and its web app only exports .pptx files. If you don't already work in Slides or PowerPoint, look elsewhere.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Basic is $10 a user a month billed annually, or $15 monthly, which is the middle figure for this category, and it covers both add-ons with 1,500 AI credits. Turning an uploaded document into slides needs Pro at $20, branding needs Team at $30, and all-day AI use means Max at $200. |
| Free plan and trial | D | No free plan at all. There's a 7-day trial of any paid plan with 1,000 AI credits, and you have to hand over a credit card to start it, which is the thing most people want to avoid. |
| Features | D | It generates whole decks and single slides, with Rewrite, Remix, an API, Zapier and an MCP server. But it's an add-on, not an editor: it needs Google Slides or PowerPoint to be any use, its own web app only puts out a .pptx, and the AI editing tools don't work there. |
| Ease of use | B | No App Store rating on record. There's nothing to set up: you add it to the Google Slides or PowerPoint you already use and carry on working there. Watching credits is the fiddly bit, as one task uses 40 to 170. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | It lives inside Google Slides and inside PowerPoint for Windows and Mac, with a web app that makes decks to export, plus an API, Zapier and an MCP server. No phone apps, and PowerPoint for iPad isn't supported. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Plus AI is for
- Fits if you already work in Google Slides or PowerPoint and want AI drafts there
- Works for teams whose slides must carry their logo, colors and fonts, on Team at $30 a user a month
Who it is not for
- Not for you if you want to try it without a card, as the 7-day trial asks for one and there's no free plan
- Skip it if you make slides on an iPad or phone, since PowerPoint for iPad isn't supported and there are no phone apps
- Pricey if you turn documents into decks, as uploads need Pro at $20 a user a month billed annually
- Pricey if you use the AI all day, because unlimited credits means Max at $200 a user a month
- Watch out: one task uses 40 to 170 credits, and the web app only exports .pptx, without the AI editing tools
Good to know
Good for
- People who want AI help without leaving Google Slides or PowerPoint
- Consultants and sales teams turning documents into editable native slides
- Teams that need generated slides to follow their logo, colors and fonts
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan: a paid plan is required after the 7-day trial, and starting the trial needs a credit card.
- It is an add-on, not a standalone editor: it runs inside Google Slides and PowerPoint for Windows and Mac, and PowerPoint for iPad is not supported.
- Its own web app only generates decks for export as .pptx; the AI editing tools work in the add-ons, not in the web app.
- AI credits belong to each user and reset monthly. Document uploads and image generation need Pro, and custom branding needs Team.

- The Team plan applies a logo, colors and fonts to Plus AI templates. Enterprise customers can have slides generated from their own slide masters and asset libraries.
- Presets and custom instructions
- Frequently used prompts are saved as presets, and custom instructions store context about a person or company for later generations. Team plans share a preset library.
- API, Zapier and MCP server
- The Presentations API creates native PowerPoint files over HTTP with a bearer key and needs a Pro or Team plan. Zapier and an MCP server offer the same without code.

It stands best on ease of use (B, above 15 of 24) and worst on free plan and trial (D, above 0).

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Plus AI you could make: templates. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 19 of the 24 other presentation tools grade higher. It costs $120 a year.
What you could make
- Templates: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- A slide editor.
- It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
- It plugs into other products, Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Docs among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
What this rests on. Plus AI’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
