Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.0
GPA, above 7 of the 21 other web hosts we grade
Rocket.net is a managed WordPress host that runs every site behind a Cloudflare Enterprise CDN and web application firewall. Plans are priced by the number of WordPress sites, with unmetered visitors, daily backups kept for 30 days, a real-time malware scanner and free licenses for WP Rocket and WP Umbrella. An AI panel connects Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT to sites, and an MCP server exposes its API to AI agents.
To get you started, here are 8 things to know about Rocket.net, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Caching and security come set up, so there are fewer plugins to fiddle with, but you're still moving and running a WordPress site.

The report card
Best for fast WordPress sites with visitors worldwide
Rocket.net puts every site behind Cloudflare Enterprise with its firewall on, and throws in WP Rocket and WP Umbrella licenses, so your caching and monitoring plugins are paid for. Visitors aren't metered and it says renewals don't go up. But it's WordPress only, there's no email, and storage over the plan is $2 a GB.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Graded against the other managed WordPress hosts. Starter is $25 a month billed yearly, so two years cost $600, about $25 a month, the middle of that group. Monthly is $30 after a $1 first month, and it says renewals aren't raised. |
| Free plan and trial | F | No free plan and no trial. The first month on monthly billing is $1, which is cheap but not free, and there's a 30-day money-back guarantee. |
| Features | B | Cloudflare Enterprise CDN and firewall, a real-time malware scanner, daily backups kept 30 days, staging, automatic updates, free WP Rocket and WP Umbrella licenses and free migrations. Nothing in the managed WordPress job is missing. |
| Ease of use | C | No app store rating to go on. Caching and security come set up, so there are fewer plugins to fiddle with, but you're still moving and running a WordPress site. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | A web dashboard with no app on record, plus an official MCP server covering the whole API, and Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT connected from its AI panel. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Rocket.net is for
- Great if your visitors are spread across lots of countries
- Handy when you want caching and security sorted without extra plugins
- A treat if you'd like to run your hosting from an AI agent or your IDE
Who it is not for
- Not for you if you want email with your hosting, as it points you to Google Workspace
- Skip it if you host anything other than WordPress
- Tight if your site is heavy on media, as storage over the plan is $2 per GB
Good to know
Good for
- WordPress sites with traffic spread across many countries
- Site owners who want caching and security handled without plugins
- Developers who want to run hosting from an AI agent or their IDE
Worth knowing
- It hosts WordPress only and does not include email; the pricing page points to Google Workspace for mail.

- Enterprise plans with dedicated CPU and RAM start at $649 a month through sales and are excluded from the 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Visitors are unmetered, but each plan caps the number of WordPress sites, storage and bandwidth.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Rocket.net you would be making servers kept running, patched and backed up for you. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It costs $300 a year.
What you could not
- Servers kept running, patched and backed up for you.
- An engine that recognises new malware as it appears.
- It plugs into other products, WordPress, WooCommerce and Cloudflare among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Rocket.net’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
