Best for tracking many job applications beside your resumes

Teal pairs a resume builder with a job tracker, and the free plan keeps unlimited resumes and tracked jobs plus a Chrome extension that saves postings. Free AI stops after 14 credits and the keyword view shows only the top 5, while Teal+ is billed by the week, 30 days or 90 days, from $79 per 90 days, with no phone app.

Who Teal is for

  • Fits if you're applying to many jobs and want each one tracked beside the resume you sent
  • Works for a short, intense search, as Teal+ can be paid by the week

Who Teal is not for

  • Tight if you lean on AI, as free use stops at 10 bullet, 2 summary and 2 cover letter credits
  • Pricey if you pay weekly: $13 a week is about $56 a month, against $29 for 30 days
  • Watch out: full keyword matching, unlimited templates and the advanced Design Mode settings are Teal+ only
  • Skip it if you want a phone app, since Teal runs in the browser with a Chrome extension
  • Watch out: refunds are only considered inside each plan's eligibility window, per the pricing FAQ

Your call

You could make the core of Teal for yourself: resume builder and templates.

What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. It costs $676 a year.

What you could make

  • Resume builder and templates: an app builder makes these well.
  • It runs in a browser, which is where something home-made would run too.

What you could not

  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Teal’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
