Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 1 of the 11 other event ticketing platforms we grade

TicketSpice is a ticketing system from Webconnex for festivals, fairs, attractions, theaters and other venues that sell online and at the gate. It charges a flat fee per ticket with no subscription, and organizers decide whether to absorb it or pass it to buyers. A drag-and-drop page builder, reserved seating, timed entry, a box office app and an offline scanning app are included, with paid add-ons for email and text marketing.

To get you started, here are 8 things to know about TicketSpice, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The catch is the extras: email, text messages and a custom domain all cost more on top.

Best for festivals and attractions selling online and at the gate

TicketSpice is built for fairs, festivals, attractions and theatres that sell online and at the gate. It's a flat 99¢ a ticket, 49¢ at the box office, with reserved seating, timed entry, kiosks and weekly payouts before the event. The catch is the extras: email, text messages and a custom domain all cost more on top.

ToolGPA report cardTicketSpiceGraded Oct 18, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCA flat 99¢ a ticket, so 200 tickets at $20 costs $198 a month, plus 2.9% + 30¢ processing that we haven't counted. You pay it unless you pass it on to buyers. Middle of the pack here, and email at $9 a month + 2¢ a recipient and text messages are extra.
Free plan and trialBNo subscription, setup or support fees, so nothing to pay until you sell. But free events are free only if you also run paid ones, otherwise free tickets cost 99¢ each, and email and text marketing are paid add-ons.
FeaturesBA drag-and-drop page builder, reserved seating, timed entry, an offline scanning app, a box office with cash drawer reports, iPad kiosks, merch and upgrades, and weekly payouts before the event. It covers the whole job.
Ease of useCNo App Store rating on record. The page builder has conditional logic and custom CSS, which is powerful but means a fair bit of building before you sell.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, iPhone and Android, with Stripe, Authorize.net, NMI, Cybersource and Paya as payment gateways, plus an API and webhooks. No desktop app, which an A needs.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who TicketSpice is for

  • Great if you sell at the gate as well as online and want one system for both
  • Handy when you need money before the event, as payouts come weekly
  • Good for venues with seating charts or timed entry slots

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you only run free events, as free tickets then cost 99¢ each
  • Pricey if you want to email and text your buyers, as each is a monthly add-on plus 2¢ a recipient
  • Not for you if you want to use your own Stripe account, as that adds 1% + 25¢ a transaction

Good to know

Good for

  • Festivals, fairs and attractions selling both online and at the gate
  • Venues with seating charts or timed entry slots
  • Organizers who want a flat fee and weekly payouts before the event

Worth knowing

  • Each paid ticket costs 99¢ (49¢ under $5 or on site) plus 2.9% + 30¢ processing; organizers can absorb it, pass it on or add their own fee.
  • Free events are free only for organizers who also run paid events; otherwise free tickets cost 99¢ each.
  • Email marketing ($9 a month + 2¢ per recipient), text messaging ($19 a month + 2¢) and a custom domain ($150 a year) are paid add-ons.
  • Using your own gateway, such as Stripe or Authorize.net, instead of Webconnex Payments adds 1% + 25¢ per transaction.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

TicketSpice is free, so making your own would save you nothing.

And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces. That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 8 of the 11 other event ticketing platforms grade higher.

What you could make

  • Reports: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • Newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox.
  • Texts to thousands of numbers, registered with the carriers.
  • Selling tickets and checking them at the door.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It plugs into other products, Stripe, Authorize.net and NMI among them, and has an API.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. TicketSpice’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
