Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 17 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade
TimeBlocks is a calendar-centered planner from a South Korean company, available for iPhone, iPad and Android with a web calendar alongside. Events are moved by drag and drop on a monthly calendar, and to-dos, habits, memos and anniversaries are kept in the same app. Calendars can be dressed up with themes, stickers and fonts from an in-app store, and group schedules can be shared with other people. The app is free with ads, and TimeBlocks Premium is a monthly or annual subscription.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about TimeBlocks, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Sticker coins cost extra, and there's no Mac or Windows app.
- 1

The report card
Best for a calendar you can decorate like a diary
TimeBlocks is a phone calendar you dress up like a paper diary, with themes, stickers and fonts, and it keeps to-dos, habits and memos in the same place. Premium is $2.99 a month. But the free version has ads, and auto sync, full search and all the calendar connections are held back for Premium. Sticker coins cost extra, and there's no Mac or Windows app.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | $2.99 a month, or $29.99 for the year, which is $2.50 a month. That's inside the cheapest quarter of planners, where the going rate is about $6. Coin packs for the sticker store are extra, from $1.99 for 10 coins. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free to use, with ads, and the Premium list takes back more than ads: auto sync, search across all periods, file attachments and all the calendar connections. You do get a month of Premium to try first. |
| Features | C | Drag events around a month calendar, roll unfinished to-dos into tomorrow, log habits, park timeless plans in memos and share a group schedule with per-person access. The basics, then, and built around the month rather than the hours of a day, with auto sync and the connections held back for Premium. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record. A quick input window sits on the calendar screen, but you're linking up Google, Apple or Naver calendars first, and the vendor's landing page opens in Korean with English in a menu. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | iPhone, iPad, Android and a web calendar, with links to Google, Apple and Naver calendars, Google Keep and Apple Reminders. No separate Mac or Windows app, and having all the connections is itself a Premium item. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who TimeBlocks is for
- Fits if you like decorating a calendar the way you would a paper diary
- Works for couples and families sharing a schedule, with different access for each person
Who it is not for
- Skip it if ads bother you and you won't pay, because removing them is Premium
- Tight if you're staying free, since auto sync, full search, attachments and all connections are held back
- Not for you if you want a desktop app, as there's only the web calendar
- Watch out: coin packs from $1.99 to $13.99 are sold apart from Premium
- Watch out: the site has no price list, and its landing page opens in Korean with English in a menu
Good to know
Good for
- People who like to decorate a calendar the way they would a paper diary
- Keeping events, to-dos, habits and memos in one phone app
- Friends, couples and families sharing a group schedule
Worth knowing
- The free version carries ads. Removing them is a Premium function, as are auto sync, search across all periods and file attachments.
- The US App Store also lists coin packs from $1.99 for 10 coins to $13.99 for 200 coins, separate from the Premium subscription.
- The vendor's site has no price list, so the prices here come from the US App Store listing and the web calendar may be priced differently.
- The vendor lists phone, tablet and web versions but no separate Mac or Windows app. Its landing page defaults to Korean, with English, Chinese and Japanese in a language menu.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of TimeBlocks you could make: calendar, tasks, habit tracking and notes. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 35 of the 69 other daily planner apps grade higher. It costs $29.99 a year.
What you could make
- Calendar, tasks, habit tracking and notes: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Naver Calendar among them.
- Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
What this rests on. TimeBlocks’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
