Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

1.8

GPA, above 0 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade

TimeTune is a time-blocking app for Android. A day is built from time blocks, each tagged with one or more activities, and groups of blocks can be saved as templates and applied to upcoming dates to set up routines, timetables or work shifts. Statistics show how time is split across activities. The app is free to install, with a premium license sold as an in-app purchase.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about TimeTune, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for repeating routines on an Android phone

TimeTune builds your day out of time blocks and lets you save a set of blocks as a template to drop onto any date, for routines, class timetables or shift work.

  2. 2

    What it costs

Paid plans start at $2.99 to $49.99 per item (US Google Play in-app purchases; basis not shown).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Free to install from Google Play. The listing and help site do not say which features are held back for the premium license.

  4. 4

    It runs on Android

    Android.

  5. 5

    Time blocks

Each block has a start time, an end time and one or more activities. The Schedule section shows upcoming blocks and past history.

  6. 6

    Templates

A template is a group of blocks covering one or more days that can be applied to the schedule in one step. A day planned by hand can also be saved as a template.

  7. 7

    Template calendar

Shows which templates will be used on upcoming dates, and is the place to apply or remove templates for a single date.

  8. 8

    A 1.8 GPA, above 0 of 69

That is against the other daily planner apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Your call

The report card

Best for repeating routines on an Android phone

TimeTune builds your day out of time blocks and lets you save a set of blocks as a template to drop onto any date, for routines, class timetables or shift work. But it's Android only, by its own FAQ it's neither a calendar nor a to-do app, the Schedule shows only 30 days ahead, and Google Play gives premium only as a $2.99 to $49.99 range with no list of what each buys.

ToolGPA report cardTimeTuneGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCFree to install, and the premium licence is an in-app purchase that Google Play describes only as $2.99 to $49.99 per item, with no word on what each one covers or how it's billed. There's no figure here to set against what the category charges.
Free plan and trialCFree to download from Google Play and you can plan with it, but neither the listing nor the help site says which features the premium licence holds back, so you find the walls by walking into them.
FeaturesCBlocks with start and end times, templates covering one or more days, a template calendar, reminders with their own sound, time tracking and charts of where the hours went. It does that fully, and it's a smaller job: the FAQ says outright it's neither a calendar nor a to-do app, and the Schedule shows 30 days.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. Blocks and templates are simple ideas and the help site has a basic guide, but you build your own templates before the app does anything for you.
Platforms and integrationsDAndroid and nothing else. The Play listing and the help site mention no iPhone, no web and no desktop version. It does read Google Calendar and back up to Google Drive.
Grade point averageWeak, out of 4.01.8

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who TimeTune is for

  • Fits if you plan your days as fixed blocks on an Android phone
  • Works for weeks that repeat, like class timetables or rotating shifts

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you use an iPhone or want it on a computer, as it's Android only
  • Not for you if you want a to-do list, because it manages time, not tasks
  • Not for you if you want prices up front, since Google Play shows only a $2.99 to $49.99 range
  • Tight if you're staying free, as nobody says which features the premium license holds back
  • Watch out: the Schedule section shows only 30 days ahead, though blocks can go on any date

Good to know

Good for

  • Android users who plan days as fixed blocks of time
  • Repeating routines, class timetables and rotating work shifts
  • People who want statistics on how their time is distributed

Worth knowing

  • The Google Play listing and help site describe an Android app. They mention no iOS, web or desktop version.
  • The vendor's FAQ says TimeTune is neither a calendar app nor a to-do app: it manages time, not tasks.
  • The Schedule section shows only 30 days ahead, although blocks and templates can be planned for any date.
  • Premium pricing is published only as a Google Play range of $2.99 to $49.99 per item, without a list of what each purchase covers.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A daily planner at its plainest is today's tasks laid along a timeline.

You could make the core of TimeTune for yourself: time blocking, templates and time tracking. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call.

What you could make

  • Time blocking, templates and time tracking: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for Android. Something home-made would be a web page.

What this rests on. TimeTune’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
