Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 42 of the 79 other project management tools we grade

Zenkit is a project management platform from Axonic GmbH. The same data can be switched between table, Kanban, Gantt, list, mind map and calendar views, with team chat, dashboards, automation and resource planning alongside. Zenkit says all data is stored on servers in Germany, and it offers desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux in addition to the web and mobile apps.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Zenkit, taken from its own pages and our grades.

No store rating on record, and this is a workspace you build: collections, fields and views are yours to arrange.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

Best for one set of data as a board, Gantt chart or mind map

Zenkit shows the same work as a table, Kanban board, Gantt chart, list, mind map or calendar, on web, desktop including Linux, and phones, with data on servers in Germany.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $8 a month for each person

As its pricing page puts it: $8 per seat / month, billed annually.

  3. 3

    You can try it first

14-day free trial of all premium features

  4. 4

    It runs on 6 platforms

Web, macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.

  5. 5

    Switchable views

The same items can be shown as a table, Kanban board, Gantt chart, list, mind map or calendar, and a tab bar switches between a project's views.

  6. 6

    Gantt chart

Projects are scheduled on a timeline with lag and lead, milestones and critical path. The plan comparison table lists advanced Gantt features from Business.

  7. 7

    Global Kanban and calendar

A global Kanban board gathers tasks from every project in one place, and a global calendar does the same for events and dates.

  8. 8

    A 2.6 GPA, above 42 of 79

That is against the other project management tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

To replace Zenkit you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card

Best for one set of data as a board, Gantt chart or mind map

Zenkit shows the same work as a table, Kanban board, Gantt chart, list, mind map or calendar, on web, desktop including Linux, and phones, with data on servers in Germany. There's no free plan after the 14-day trial, Plus at $8 a seat stops at 10 users, the comparison table puts the Gantt chart and custom fields on Team at $12, and the API and SSO wait for Business at $21.

ToolGPA report cardZenkitGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCPlus is $8 a seat a month billed annually, which is this category's middle to the cent, and it stops at 10 users. The comparison table then starts the Gantt chart, custom fields and user roles on Team at $12, with the API and SSO on Business at $21. Prices exclude VAT, and every member is a paid seat.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan is listed, just a 14-day trial of the premium features, and the listing doesn't say whether it asks for a card. When it ends, access is restricted, usually to exporting your data.
FeaturesBIt covers the whole job: six views of the same items, a Gantt chart with lag and lead, milestones and critical path, custom and formula fields, references linking items across collections, automation, team chat and an offline mode. Trello, Asana and ClickUp cover the same ground.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record, and this is a workspace you build: collections, fields and views are yours to arrange. A tab bar flips a project between views, and a global Kanban board pulls every project's tasks together. Which plan has the Gantt chart is confusing: the plan card and the table disagree.
Platforms and integrationsAThe full set and more: web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android, working offline, with Zapier, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Dropbox, Trello and Toggl Track. The API waits for Business.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Zenkit is for

  • Fits if you want one set of items shown as a board, a Gantt chart, a table or a mind map
  • Works for teams whose data has to stay on servers in Germany, including Linux users

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want a free plan, because after the 14-day trial you're down to exporting your data
  • Tight if you're on Plus, which stops at 10 users, 20,000 items and 300 automation runs per seat a month
  • Pricey if you need the API or SSO, which wait for Business at $21 a seat
  • Watch out: the plan card and comparison table disagree on whether Plus has the Gantt chart, and custom fields start on Team
  • Watch out: prices exclude VAT, and owners and administrators each count as a paid seat

Good to know

Good for

  • Teams that want one dataset as a board, Gantt chart, table or mind map
  • Organizations that want project data kept on servers in Germany
  • Linux users, since a Linux desktop app sits beside macOS and Windows
  • Teams moving over from Trello, Asana or Microsoft To Do

Worth knowing

  • No free plan is listed: after the 14-day trial, access is restricted, usually to data export, unless a subscription is activated.
  • Plus is capped at 10 users, and the comparison table shows Gantt chart, custom fields and user roles starting on Team even though the Plus card lists a Gantt chart.
  • API access, SSO (SAML) and SCIM provisioning need the Business plan.
  • Prices exclude VAT, and every organization member, including owners and administrators, counts as a paid seat.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Zenkit you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

It costs $96 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks, kanban boards, Gantt & timelines, calendar and mind mapping: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
  • Apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Zenkit’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
