Worth knowing

Blocos

  • The free plan is capped at 8 activities, 5 tasks per activity, 3 templates, one timer per activity and 3 months of analytics history.
  • The website shows no prices and says plans depend on location and currency. The US App Store lists two yearly amounts, $19.99 and $49.99, without explaining them.
  • Focus Seasons needs Premium, and subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play.
  • There is no separate Mac or Windows app. On a computer Blocos is used through the web app, which syncs with the phone app.

Sectograph

  • It is not a to-do list. Its Google Play listing describes it as a planner that visualizes what is already on your calendar.
  • The Android app is free with in-app purchases the listing does not itemize, while the iOS app costs $3.99 up front.
  • Outlook calendar support is labelled beta on Android, and there is no web or desktop version.
  • The vendor's website is a single page with store links, so feature and price details come from the store listings.

Key features

Blocos

Blocks Planner
The day is shown as 144 ten-minute blocks. Selecting blocks and assigning an activity plans or logs that time, and Google Calendar events can be converted into blocks.
Templates and week planning
A day designed once can be saved as a template and applied to other days, and activities can be scheduled in bulk across a week.
Pomodoro and Flow timers
Activity timers with adjustable focus and break lengths, alarms and notifications. Time measured by a timer is logged in the planner automatically.
Statistics
Charts and tables break time down by activity over the past 90 days, with custom filters and CSV export. Planner history keeps every change for review.
Focus Seasons
Structured challenges of 4 to 16 weeks with daily activity targets, weekly progress tracking and an end-of-season review. A Premium feature.
To-do lists and notes
Each activity holds its own tasks, with priorities and reminders, and its own notes. Tasks with a start date appear in the Blocks Planner.

Sectograph

Clock-face timeline
The day is drawn as a 12-hour dial, or 24-hour if you prefer, with each event placed at the hours it happens and sized to its duration.
Free time and countdowns
Sectograph calculates the gaps between events and the time from now until the next one, and updates the view as time passes.
Reads existing calendars
On Android it reads Google Calendar and the device's local calendars. Microsoft Outlook calendar support is labelled beta.
Home screen widget
A widget keeps the dial on the home screen, refreshing once a minute. Tapping a sector opens event details and quick actions.
Wear OS support
The Android version includes a watch app with an interactive widget, a tile, a large complication and a separately installed watch face.
Zoom and grid views
Options on Android include a 24-hour mode, zooming the dial to between 1 and 12 hours, and month and day grid views.
