Who each one suits

CheckYourList

  • Routines repeated often, such as packing, gym bags and mornings
  • People who want a checklist with no streaks or habit scores
  • Apple Watch users who check items off from the wrist

Daily Checklist

  • People who plan one day at a time and check tasks off
  • Keeping work, shopping and study lists in separate tabs
  • Users who want a to-do app with no account and data kept on the device

Worth knowing

CheckYourList

  • The free version is limited to 2 checklists; widgets and daily reminders are Pro features.
  • Apple devices only: the FAQ says there is no Android version yet, and the App Store listing does not include a Mac app.
  • Vendor pages disagree on the lifetime price, and the App Store lists two or three prices for each Pro option, so the price shown in the app may differ.
  • By design it has no streaks, habit tracking or recurring-task scheduling.

Daily Checklist

  • The store listings say Free with in-app purchases but do not explain the trial; Google Play reviews from 2025 and 2026 say the app stops working after about a week without Premium.
  • There is no live sync: data stays on the device and moves to another one only through backup and restore.
  • It is for phones and tablets only. The site names iPhone and Android, and there is no web or desktop version.
  • Premium costs $4.99 on the US App Store and $5.99 on Google Play.

Key features

CheckYourList

Uncheck All
A finished checklist is reset with one tap on Uncheck All, so the same list is ready for the next day or the next trip without being rebuilt.
Apple Watch app
A standalone watchOS app syncs with the iPhone, so lists can be viewed and items checked off from the wrist.
iCloud sync with no account
Checklists sync across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch through iCloud. There is no login; the press kit says the developer sees none of the data.
Daily reminders
A checklist can have a daily reminder that sends a notification at a set time each day. The FAQ lists reminders among the Pro features.
Widgets
Home screen and lock screen widgets show how many items are left on a checklist and open it directly. Widgets need Pro.
Shortcuts and Spotlight
Apple Shortcuts automations can open a checklist or a group of checklists, and checklists, groups and items are searchable in Spotlight.

Daily Checklist

A list for each day
Today's tasks are checked off with one tap, a swipe moves between yesterday, today and tomorrow, and a task can be copied to today or tomorrow.
Unlimited tabs
Lists are separated into as many tabs as needed, such as Work, Shopping and Study, and each tab can hold its own notes.
Recurring tasks
A task can repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and then appears on the list automatically on each due day.
Priorities, notes and emojis
Each task can have one of three priority levels, shown as a number of exclamation marks, a longer note, and one of more than 1,000 emojis.
Date-free lists and notifications
Static lists that are not tied to a date suit packing or grocery lists, and notifications with a custom message can be set for chosen days and times.
Backup, CSV export and print
Backup and restore moves data to another device, including between iPhone and Android. Data can be exported as CSV, and any list can be printed.
