Value for money
BChecklist Plus is $5.99 a month or $39.99 a year on the US App Store, and Family is $11.99 or $79.99. The yearly Plus price is about typical for a to-do app. The listing doesn't itemise what Plus adds, so it stays a B.
BThe FAQ gives Pro as $3.99 a month, $19.99 a year or $24.99 for life, and the yearly price is cheap. But the press kit says lifetime is $49.99, and the App Store lists two or three prices for each option. So check the number in the app before you tap.
Free plan and trial
BThe apps are free to download and use. But the store listings don't say where the free version stops, so we can't tell you how far you'll get. The web app does offer 14 days of Pro with no credit card.
BFree gets you 2 checklists with unlimited items, iCloud sync and the Watch app. Gym bag and morning routine, and that's your two. Widgets, daily reminders and more lists need Pro.
Features
BPublic templates, builders for groceries and packing with aisle-based categories, a guided mode for when order matters, and routines that schedule and track themselves. Lists share with family or a team. It's a checklist app first, though, so don't expect a project planner.
BIt does one small job and does it properly: reusable lists with a one-tap reset, a standalone Watch app, widgets, and Shortcuts that open a list for you. By design there's no scheduling of repeats and no sharing.
Ease of use
BWe have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is as high as we go. Starting from a template or a builder means you rarely face a blank page, and the app suggests tasks as you type.
BNo App Store rating is on record for it, so a B is as high as we go. There's no login at all. Make a list, tick it, reset it. It's hard to imagine anything simpler.
Platforms and integrations
AiPhone, iPad, Android and a web app, and you can plan a checklist in ChatGPT or Claude and save it across. No native Mac or Windows app, so on a computer it's the browser.
CiPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, synced through iCloud, with Apple Shortcuts and Spotlight search. The FAQ says there's no Android version yet, and the App Store listing has no Mac app.

Who each one suits

Checklist

  • Households sharing grocery and chore lists
  • Small teams running step-by-step procedures and SOPs

CheckYourList

  • Apple Watch users who check items off from the wrist

Worth knowing

Checklist

  • Prices here are the US App Store in-app purchases. The pricing page on checklist.com sits behind a security check and could not be read.
  • The web app also names Pro and Enterprise plans for organizations, priced per seat; their prices are not covered here.
  • The App Store listing is designed for iPad and iPhone and is not verified for macOS; there is no native Mac or Windows app.
  • The store listings name the Plus and Family subscriptions without saying what each adds over the free version.

CheckYourList

  • The free version is limited to 2 checklists; widgets and daily reminders are Pro features.
  • Apple devices only: the FAQ says there is no Android version yet, and the App Store listing does not include a Mac app.
  • Vendor pages disagree on the lifetime price, and the App Store lists two or three prices for each Pro option, so the price shown in the app may differ.
  • By design it has no streaks, habit tracking or recurring-task scheduling.

Key features

Checklist

Templates and builders
Lists can start from public checklist templates or from builders for groceries, routines and packing. The groceries builder has presets and aisle-based categories.
Guided mode
Guided mode walks through a checklist one step at a time, for routines, packing, cleaning or any procedure where the order matters.
Routines and schedules
A checklist that repeats can be turned into a routine, scheduled, reused and tracked over time, and the next run can be scheduled when one finishes.
Sharing and teams
Checklists are shared with family, friends or teammates. Recent releases added team invitations inside the app and access management for members and guests.
Reminders and task suggestions
Tasks can carry reminders, and the app suggests tasks while a list is being built.
Checklists from ChatGPT or Claude
The September 2026 release notes describe planning a checklist with ChatGPT or Claude and then saving it to Checklist.

CheckYourList

Uncheck All
A finished checklist is reset with one tap on Uncheck All, so the same list is ready for the next day or the next trip without being rebuilt.
Apple Watch app
A standalone watchOS app syncs with the iPhone, so lists can be viewed and items checked off from the wrist.
iCloud sync with no account
Checklists sync across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch through iCloud. There is no login; the press kit says the developer sees none of the data.
Daily reminders
A checklist can have a daily reminder that sends a notification at a set time each day. The FAQ lists reminders among the Pro features.
Widgets
Home screen and lock screen widgets show how many items are left on a checklist and open it directly. Widgets need Pro.
Shortcuts and Spotlight
Apple Shortcuts automations can open a checklist or a group of checklists, and checklists, groups and items are searchable in Spotlight.
