Good for
- Clearing an inbox by forwarding emails into a to-do list
- Planning one day at a time and pushing the rest to later dates
- People who would pay a subscription to avoid third-party trackers
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan: after the trial the service costs $48 every six months, billed in advance and nonrefundable.
- It runs on the web, iPhone and iPad only, with no Android or desktop app.
- The homepage advertises a 60-day free trial while the terms of use describe a 30-day trial.
- The App Store shows the iOS app's most recent update as version 4.3.3, dated 05/10/2022.
Key features
- Todos by email
- An email forwarded to a Good Todo address becomes a todo. Addresses such as tomorrow@goodtodo.com file it on a later day, and an email can be sent straight into a category.
- A list for each day
- Todos sit on the list for a specific date. Redate moves one to another day, and Multi-Redate in the web app moves several at once.
- 7-day and 30-day views
- The web app can show every todo in the next 7 or 30 days under dated headings, and todos can be dragged from one day to another on that page.
- Categories and recurring todos
- Todos can be grouped into categories with an optional color label, and a todo can recur daily, on weekdays or on chosen days of the week.
- iPhone and iPad app
- The iOS app syncs with the online account and can create, edit, reorder, redate and search todos, view attachments and email a todo to any address.
- Export and files
- Todos can be exported from the Preferences page, a recurring email export sends them on a chosen schedule, and a Files page holds attachments and uploads.
