Best for a free phone to-do app that needs no account

My Tasks puts tasks, notes, checklists and a calendar in one phone app, and the core of it is free with no ads and no account. Everything sits on your phone and works in airplane mode. The flip side is that it stays on that phone unless you pay: sync, backup and sharing are premium, and there's no web or desktop app at all.

Who My Tasks is for

  • Great if you want a to-do app that works with no account and no connection
  • Handy when you'd like tasks, notes, shopping lists and a calendar in one phone app
  • Good for couples or families sharing lists, if you take premium

Who My Tasks is not for

  • Skip it if you want your tasks on a computer, as there's no web or desktop app
  • Not for you if you expect free sync, since without premium each device keeps its own list
  • Too light for anyone who wants tasks wired into other apps, as it has no integrations on record

Why My Tasks gets a 3.4

Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.

  • AValue for moneyPremium is $19.99 a year, or $2.99 monthly, and a lifetime purchase is $39.99. All three undercut the usual to-do subscription. It buys cloud sync and backup, shared tasks, the AI assistant and the OCR scanner.
  • AFree plan and trialUnlimited tasks, sub-tasks, notes, checklists, calendar events, reminders and repeating tasks, free and with no ads. Plenty of people could stop there. What you don't get is sync, so each device keeps its own list.
  • AFeaturesTasks with sub-steps, reminders, repeats, categories and tags. A notes editor, checklists you can drag into order, and a calendar in day, week and month views. Five widgets and a fingerprint or face lock too. Premium adds sharing and an AI assistant.
  • BEase of useWe have no App Store rating on record, so a B is as high as we go. No account is needed to start, and it works with no connection at all. Sign-in only comes up if you want cloud backup or sharing.
  • CPlatforms and integrationsAndroid and iPhone, and that's it. There's no web or desktop app, and nothing on record that connects it to other services. Getting your phone and tablet to match needs the premium cloud backup.

What is My Tasks?

My Tasks: Lists & Schedules is a to-do app for Android and iPhone by Stefanos Kouzounis that puts tasks, notes, checklists and a calendar in one place. It is offline-first: everything is stored in a local database on the phone, and no account is needed to start. The core app is free with no ads. An optional premium tier, sold monthly, yearly or as a lifetime purchase, adds cloud backup and sync, shared tasks, an AI assistant, an OCR scanner and drawing notes.

My Tasks has a free plan. Paid plans start at $2.99 per month, or $19.99 per year. See every plan

Good for

  • People who want a to-do app that needs no account or connection
  • Keeping tasks, notes, lists and a calendar in one phone app
  • Couples or families sharing lists, with premium

Worth knowing

  • Cloud backup and sync, shared tasks, the AI assistant, the OCR scanner and drawing notes are premium features.
  • Without premium each device keeps its own separate list; syncing a phone and a tablet, or Android and iPhone, needs the premium cloud backup.
  • It is available for Android 8.0 and up and for iPhone and iPad only, with no web or desktop app.
  • Prices here are from the US App Store; Google Play shows a different in-app range of $0.99 to $33.99 per item without labels.
