Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.0
GPA, above 2 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade
Good Todo is a to-do list service from Creative Good Projects for the web, iPhone and iPad. Every day has its own list, todos that will not get done today are redated to a later day, and emails forwarded to a Good Todo address become todos. The vendor says its website uses no third-party trackers. There is no free plan: after a free trial the service is billed at $48 for six months.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Good Todo, taken from its own pages and our grades.
No store rating on record, but there's nothing to set up: todos land on dates, and you redate the ones you won't do today.
- 1
Best for turning forwarded emails into a day-by-day list
Good Todo keeps a separate list for each day, and forwarding an email to tomorrow@goodtodo.com puts it on tomorrow's list.
- 2
Paid plans start at $8 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $48 per 6 months ($8 per month).
- 3
You can try it first
60-day free trial per the homepage; the terms of use describe a 30-day trial
- 4
It runs on 2 platforms
Web and iOS.
- 5
Todos by email
An email forwarded to a Good Todo address becomes a todo. Addresses such as tomorrow@goodtodo.com file it on a later day, and an email can be sent straight into a category.
- 6
A list for each day
Todos sit on the list for a specific date. Redate moves one to another day, and Multi-Redate in the web app moves several at once.
- 7
7-day and 30-day views
The web app can show every todo in the next 7 or 30 days under dated headings, and todos can be dragged from one day to another on that page.
- 8
A 2.0 GPA, above 2 of 123
That is against the other to-do list apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9

A to-do list at its plainest is tasks with dates, repeats and a box to tick.

The report card
Best for turning forwarded emails into a day-by-day list
Good Todo keeps a separate list for each day, and forwarding an email to tomorrow@goodtodo.com puts it on tomorrow's list. It costs $48 every six months, billed in advance and nonrefundable, with no free plan. There's no Android or desktop app, the homepage and the terms disagree on the trial length, and the iOS app's latest App Store update is from 2022.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | D | $48 every six months is $8 a month, double this category's $3.99 middle, and there's no cheaper plan to drop to. It's billed in advance and the terms say payments are nonrefundable. |
| Free plan and trial | C | No free plan. The home page offers 60 days free, although the terms of use say 30. Nothing on record says whether a card is needed to start. |
| Features | C | Email-in todos, a list per day, 7-day and 30-day views, repeats on chosen weekdays, export and a files page. The gap is depth: categories with a colour label are as far as organising goes, and there are no subtasks or projects. |
| Ease of use | B | No store rating on record, but there's nothing to set up: todos land on dates, and you redate the ones you won't do today. Forwarding an email to tomorrow@goodtodo.com is the whole capture flow. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | Web, iPhone and iPad only, with no Android or desktop app and an empty integrations list. The App Store shows the iOS app last updated at version 4.3.3, back in 2022. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Good Todo is for
- Fits if your inbox is your to-do list and you want to forward emails onto dated lists
- Works for planning one day at a time and pushing the rest to later dates
Who it is not for
- Pricey if you just want a simple list, at $48 every six months with no free plan
- Skip it if you have an Android phone or want a desktop app, as the only app is for iPhone and iPad
- Not for you if you count on refunds, since it's billed in advance and payments are nonrefundable
- Watch out: the homepage says 60-day trial, the terms say 30, and the iOS app's last update is from 2022
- Too light for projects, as there are no subtasks and organising stops at colour-labelled categories
Good to know
Good for
- Clearing an inbox by forwarding emails into a to-do list
- Planning one day at a time and pushing the rest to later dates
- People who would pay a subscription to avoid third-party trackers
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan: after the trial the service costs $48 every six months, billed in advance and nonrefundable.
- It runs on the web, iPhone and iPad only, with no Android or desktop app.
- The homepage advertises a 60-day free trial while the terms of use describe a 30-day trial.
- The App Store shows the iOS app's most recent update as version 4.3.3, dated 05/10/2022.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
You could make this
A to-do list at its plainest is tasks with dates, repeats and a box to tick.
What Good Todo does at its core is tasks and calendar, and that is the kind of thing an AI app builder makes well. You would give up one thing, listed below, and little else. It costs $96 a year. An AI app builder starts at about $19 a month on our listings, and you only need it while you build.
What you could make
- Tasks and calendar: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A real app for iOS. Something home-made would be a web page.
What this rests on. Good Todo’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
