How we grade them

3.2GPATeuxDeuxVery good3.2GPAWeekloVery good
Value for money
B$3 a month billed annually, or $4 month to month, which is about what a paid to-do app costs. That buys the web app plus week view, Focus mode, customisable recurring to-dos, search and undo delete. Students and teachers can email for a discount, but its size isn't published.
APRO is $1.99 a month and Ultra $2.99, or $15.99 a year, when the typical planner starts near $8 a month. You can pay once instead: PRO Forever is $20.99 or $31.99 and Ultra Forever $46.99 or $64.99. The US App Store lists both prices without saying which applies.
Free plan and trial
BThe iOS and Android apps are free to use without a subscription, so phone-only users can stay free. The web app is another story. After a 7-day trial with no card, the website turns read-only until you subscribe.
BFree has no ads and no cap on tasks, which is nice. But multiple planners, repeating tasks, timed reminders, notes, backups and PDF export are all PRO. A planner that can't repeat "bins on tuesday" only gets you so far.
Features
BA list for every day, rollover of unfinished to-dos, repeats typed as "every other week", someday lists and a Focus mode with a timer. Solid for day-by-day planning. But there are no alerts or reminders by design, shared lists are read-only for viewers, and it needs an internet connection.
BA week grid with one-tap tasks you drag between days, separate planners for work, study or meals, repeat rules from daily to yearly, rich-text notes and a printable PDF of your week. It does the weekly page fully. Past that it's light: sync and sharing wait on the top tier.
Ease of use
A4.8 from about 2,700 App Store ratings. It's laid out like a paper list, you drag to reorder, and unfinished to-dos move to tomorrow without you touching them.
BNo App Store rating on record, so a B is our ceiling. Tasks go in with one tap and weeks turn with a page-flip swipe. One thing to mind: your data lives on the device by default, and the terms make backups your job.
Platforms and integrations
BA web app plus iOS and Android apps, so it's on most things. But no integrations are on record, and the App Store listing is for iPhone only.
BWeb, iPhone and Android, but they only sync with each other on Ultra. Otherwise your data stays on the one device. Apple Calendar, iCloud and Google Drive are the only connections on record.

  • An internet connection is required to use TeuxDeux.
  • Shared lists are read-only for viewers, and the App Store listing is for iPhone only.

Key features

TeuxDeux

A list for every day
To-dos are written on the list for a calendar day and reordered by drag and drop, in a layout meant to feel like a paper to-do list.
Automatic rollover
To-dos that are not finished today move to tomorrow's list on their own, so nothing has to be rescheduled by hand.
Recurring to-dos in plain words
Adding a phrase such as "every weekday" or "every other week" to the end of a to-do makes it repeat. Recurring to-dos can also be edited and sorted from a sidebar.
Someday lists
Undated lists for goals and bucket lists sit below the daily lists and are grouped in tabs. A someday list can be shared through a link, read-only.
Focus mode
A single-column view that shows only the current day's list, with a choice of backgrounds and a timer for a work session.
Daily Digest email
An optional email with the day's to-dos, sent at a time you choose. Replying to the email adds to-dos to that day's list.

Weeklo

Whole-week grid view
The week is shown as a grid of days. Tasks are created in one tap and dragged across days or weeks, weeks turn with a page-flip swipe, and a monthly calendar jumps to any date.
Multiple planners
Separate planners for work, study, meals or a diary each get their own color and are switched by scrolling vertically. Multiple planners need PRO.
Recurring tasks and reminders
Recurrence rules cover daily, weekly, multi-week, monthly and yearly intervals, and a task can carry several notifications. Both are PRO features.
AI emoji generator
A magic wand button assigns emojis to tasks and grocery items so a list can be scanned by eye. It is a PRO feature.
Notes and PDF export
Rich-text notes support bold, italics, highlights and colors, and a week can be exported as a printable PDF in A4 or Letter templates. Both need PRO.
Sync and shared planners
Ultra adds real-time cloud sync across web, iOS and Android and sharing a planner with Editor or Viewer access.
