Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.8

GPA, above 25 of the 43 other habit trackers we grade

Awesome Habits is a habit tracker for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch made by Michal Tuma, a developer based in the Czech Republic. Habits to build or break get daily, weekly or monthly goals, can be counted or timed, and can fill in automatically from Apple Health. No account is needed: data is stored on the device and synced through the user's own iCloud. Basic features are free, and Premium is sold as a subscription or a one-time purchase.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Awesome Habits, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Steps, sleep and workouts fill in from Apple Health, there's no account, and data syncs through your own iCloud.

The report card

Best for a private habit tracker for Apple devices

Awesome Habits is one developer's habit tracker for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Watch. Steps, sleep and workouts fill in from Apple Health, there's no account, and data syncs through your own iCloud. Premium is $12.99 a year or $22.99 once. But there's no Android, Windows or web version, the free limits aren't published, and the current release needs iOS 18 or macOS 15.

ToolGPA report cardAwesome HabitsGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyA$12.99 a year works out at $1.08 a month, under 60% of this category's cheapest quarter of $1.99, with the middle at $3.33. Lifetime Premium at $22.99 once is less than a year of the typical subscription here. Monthly at $4.99 is the one to avoid.
Free plan and trialCBasic features are free, but the maker won't say what basic means. App Store reviews from 2024 describe a cap of three habits with widgets kept for Premium, so expect a wall. The yearly plan is listed with a trial of unstated length.
FeaturesBNothing missing from the habit-tracking job: build-or-break goals by day, week or month, counted in decimals or timed, Health filling in sleep, steps and workouts, heatmaps and streaks, lists with notes, editable past days, CSV export and widgets everywhere.
Ease of useB4.8 on the App Store, but from about 936 ratings, under the 1,000 we want behind a top mark. No account to create, sync runs through your own iCloud, and Health habits fill themselves in.
Platforms and integrationsCApple only: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Watch, with Apple Health, Siri Shortcuts and iCloud. No Android, Windows or web version, and the current release needs iOS 18, macOS 15 or watchOS 10 or later.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.8

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Awesome Habits is for

  • Fits if you're all Apple and want one tracker on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Watch
  • Works for people who'd rather pay $22.99 once than subscribe, and want Apple Health to fill in steps and sleep

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you use Android, Windows or the web, as it's Apple devices only
  • Not for you if you need the free limits in writing, because the maker doesn't publish them
  • Tight if you stay free, going by 2024 App Store reviews that describe a three-habit cap and no widgets
  • Watch out: it needs iOS 18, macOS 15 or watchOS 10 or later, and the weekly recap needs Apple Intelligence and iOS 27
  • Pricey if you pay monthly, at $4.99 a month against $12.99 a year, and the yearly trial's length isn't shown

Good to know

Good for

  • Apple users who want one tracker across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Watch
  • People who want no account and their data kept in their own iCloud
  • Filling in steps, sleep and workouts from Apple Health automatically
  • Buyers who prefer a low one-time price to a subscription

Worth knowing

  • Apple only: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. There is no Android, Windows or web version.
  • The free version is described only as basic features; App Store reviews from 2024 mention a cap of three habits and widgets reserved for Premium.
  • The current version requires iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 or watchOS 10 or later.
  • Habit ideas and weekly recaps rely on Apple Intelligence, which is limited to supported devices and regions; the recap needs iOS 27.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Awesome Habits you could make: habit tracking and goals. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It costs $12.99 a year.

What you could make

  • Habit tracking and goals: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS and iOS that stay in step with each other.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app, widgets, Live Activities and the lock screen.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Awesome Habits’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
