Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.4

GPA, above 22 of the 147 other note-taking apps we grade

Bundled Notes is a note-taking and personal organization app built by a solo developer in Melbourne, Australia. Notes live in bundles, which work like notebooks that each have their own layout, sorting, tags and to-do behavior, and any bundle can be switched to a kanban board. It runs on Android, as a web app for Pro subscribers and on iOS in early access, with sync between devices and offline editing.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Bundled Notes, taken from its own pages and our grades.

No store rating on record, so we go by the listing: install it, sign in, start a bundle, write.

The report card

Best for notes, lists and boards in one Android app

Bundled Notes sorts notes into bundles, and each bundle can be a grid, a list or a kanban board. Pro is $2.79 a month or $27.99 a year. The free plan is Android only and stops at 8 bundles and 150 MB, the web app needs Pro, the iPhone app is in early access with its own prices, no Mac or Windows app is planned, and there's no end-to-end encryption.

ToolGPA report cardBundled NotesGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyBPro is $2.79 a month, or $27.99 a year, which lands inside the cheapest quarter of this category against a $6 middle. It buys the web app, unlimited bundles and notes, 15 GB for the account and 400 MB files.
Free plan and trialCFree for ever with no ads, but the walls come early: Android only, 8 bundles, 1,000 notes a bundle, 150 MB for the whole account and 20 MB a file. The web app isn't on the free plan at all.
FeaturesCMarkdown that renders as you type, tags, task tags, kanban boards, attachments, repeating reminders, offline editing: the basics are all covered. The gaps the listing names itself are no end-to-end encryption, no self-hosting and nothing that connects to another app.
Ease of useBNo store rating on record, so we go by the listing: install it, sign in, start a bundle, write. The one thing to get your head round is that every bundle has its own layout, sorting and tag behaviour.
Platforms and integrationsCA phone and a browser, and that's your lot: Android, the web app on Pro only, iPhone still in early access. No Mac or Windows app is planned, and the listing names no integrations and no API.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.4

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Bundled Notes is for

  • Fits if you're on Android and want notes, to-dos and boards in one app
  • Works for students, who can email from a student address and get Pro free for up to 2 years

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you're on iPhone and want a finished app, as iOS is early access, with its own prices of $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year
  • Not for you if you need end-to-end encryption or self-hosting, as it offers neither
  • Tight if you're staying free: Android only, 8 bundles, 1,000 notes a bundle, 150 MB in all and 20 MB a file
  • Watch out: the web app is Pro only, and no Mac or Windows app is planned
  • Watch out: the listing names no integrations or API, so your notes don't flow to other apps

Good to know

Good for

  • Android users who want notes, lists and boards in one app
  • Color-coded personal organization with tags
  • People happy to support a solo developer with a low-cost subscription

Worth knowing

  • The free plan covers the Android app only; the web app needs Pro.
  • The iOS app is in early access and its App Store listing shows its own Pro prices ($2.99 monthly, $24.99 yearly). A Mac or Windows app is not currently planned.
  • The free plan stops at 8 bundles, 1,000 notes per bundle, 150 MB of account storage and 20 MB per file.
  • End-to-end encryption is not supported: data is encrypted at rest and in transit only, and self-hosting is not offered.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A notes app at its plainest is text in folders with a search box.

You could make the core of Bundled Notes for yourself: notes, Markdown, kanban boards and tasks. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. At $27.99 a year it costs less than the weekend it would take to replace, which is the argument for keeping it.

What you could make

  • Notes, Markdown, kanban boards and tasks: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.

What this rests on. Bundled Notes’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
