Fiery Feeds report card
Very good · out of 4.0 · graded Oct 9, 2026
Best for tinkerers who want one Apple app for every feed
Fiery Feeds is a feed reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac that plugs into nearly any feed service you already have, from Feedly to a FreshRSS server at home. Then it lets you fiddle with every layout and theme. The App Store lists Pro at $1.99, $4.99 and $9.99 without saying what period each covers, so the real cost is hard to pin down before you download it.
Who Fiery Feeds is for
- Great if you already use Feedly, Feedbin, Inoreader or NewsBlur and want an Apple app for it
- Handy when you want your feeds and your Instapaper or wallabag queue in one app
- A treat if you like adjusting layouts, themes and keyboard controls until they're just so
Who Fiery Feeds is not for
- Skip it if you read on Windows, Android or the web, as it's iPhone, iPad and Mac only
- Tight if you're staying free, since text extraction, feed management and smart views are all Pro
- Not for you if you want the price up front, because the App Store doesn't say what period each Pro price covers
Why Fiery Feeds gets a 3.0
Five grades, each with its reason. The GPA is their average: an A is 4 points, an F is none.
- BValue for moneyThe US App Store lists Pro at $1.99, $4.99 and $9.99 but doesn't say which billing period each one covers. So we can't call it cheap or dear. One Pro unlock does cover iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- BFree plan and trialFree to download, and it reads and syncs your feed and read-later accounts without paying. But text extraction, offline full text, feed management, smart views and widgets are all Pro. That's a lot held back.
- AFeaturesIt connects to Feedly, Feedbin, Inoreader, NewsBlur, FreshRSS, Tiny Tiny RSS and more, or runs on local and iCloud accounts. You get three ways to view an article, smart views like Hot Links, saved searches, and Instapaper and wallabag syncing both ways.
- BEase of use4.5 from 466 App Store ratings. It's built for people who like settings, with pane layouts, themes and custom actions to choose from, so we'd expect a bit of setting up before it feels like yours.
- CPlatforms and integrationsiPhone, iPad and Mac with a Safari extension, and it talks to a long list of feed services. All Apple, though. No web, Windows or Android version is listed, and it needs iOS 17 or macOS 14 or later.

Key features
- Wide choice of feed accounts
- Works with Feedly, Feedbin, Fever, Inoreader, NewsBlur, BazQux, The Old Reader, FeedHQ, FreshRSS and Tiny Tiny RSS, and with local or iCloud feed accounts that need no outside service.
- Article, web and text view modes
- An article can be shown as the feed supplies it, as the web page inline, or as extracted text only, and the last mode used is remembered per feed. Text extraction is a Pro feature.
- Smart views and saved searches
- Hot Links collects the sites most linked to from your articles, and other views sort by posting frequency or word count. Saved searches filter by keyword. Smart views are a Pro feature.
- Read-later accounts
- Instapaper and wallabag accounts sync both ways, and links can also be kept in a local or iCloud read-later account. A Safari extension subscribes to feeds and saves links.
- Layouts, themes and keyboard control
- One-, two- and three-pane layouts and a vertical split are available, fonts and colors can be changed, and an external keyboard can control the whole app. Custom themes need Pro.
- Apple Intelligence summaries
- Version 2.15 added article summaries, topic categorization and translation through Apple Intelligence on iOS 26, and a later update added a single switch that turns the AI features off.
