Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.6
GPA, above 27 of the 51 other AI agents we grade
Happycapy is a browser-based workspace it calls an agent-native computer: each account gets an isolated cloud sandbox where AI agents browse the web, work with files and run code to finish tasks, including while your own computer is off. Work is organized into Projects, extended by installable skills from a Skill Store, and can be scheduled as Automations or started by email through Capy Mail. One subscription covers models from several AI labs, metered in monthly credits.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Happycapy, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1
Best for agents in a cloud computer, with no terminal
Happycapy gives you a computer in the cloud where AI agents browse, handle files and run code, and it keeps going when your laptop is shut.
- 2
Paid plans start at $17 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $17 per month, billed annually (Pro); $20 billed monthly.
- 3
There is a free plan
250 credits a month in a basic sandbox, with Claude model access, basic models through skills and custom skill creation.
- 4
It runs on 3 platforms
Web, iOS and Android.
- 5
Cloud sandbox
Agents work in an isolated cloud sandbox, separate from your computer, where they browse the web, handle files and run code. You can watch each step and stop a task at any time.
- 6
Skills and Skill Store
Installable skills add abilities such as building websites, deep research, slides, images, video and games. You can also create your own or use open-source skills.
- 7
Automations
A scheduled prompt runs inside a Project daily or on an interval, using its files and context, then saves or sends the result. The feature is labeled beta.
- 8
A 2.6 GPA, above 27 of 51
That is against the other AI agents we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace Happycapy you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for agents in a cloud computer, with no terminal
Happycapy gives you a computer in the cloud where AI agents browse, handle files and run code, and it keeps going when your laptop is shut. Pro is $17 a month on the annual plan, but the free plan is 250 credits a month in a basic sandbox, and frontier models, Automations and Capy Mail all wait for Pro. Automations are still labeled beta and capped at 3 on Pro, only GitHub and Notion are listed as integrations, and the Team plan shows no price.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Pro is $17 a month billed annually, or $20 monthly, for 2,000 credits, frontier models and a 2-core sandbox with 50 GB of storage, which undercuts what agent tools here usually start at. No separate API keys to pay for either. Plus is $42 and Max $167. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free refills every month, which is better than a one-off, but 250 credits is a small ration and the sandbox is the basic one. Frontier models, Automations and Capy Mail all wait for Pro. |
| Features | C | The sandbox does its own job fully: agents browse, handle files and run code while you watch, and skills add research, slides, websites and video. It's a smaller job than it looks, though. Only GitHub and Notion are listed as integrations, and Automations are beta and capped at 3 on Pro. |
| Ease of use | B | It runs in the browser with the models already included, so there are no API keys to sort out and no terminal to open: you type a task and watch the sandbox work. No rating on record to confirm it. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, iPhone and Android, plus its own email address through Capy Mail and a Mac-only link to your own computer. What's thin is the other half: only GitHub and Notion as integrations, and no API on record. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Happycapy is for
- Fits if you want agent tools like Claude Code without touching a terminal
- Works for a report or a check that needs to run while your laptop is shut
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free, with 250 credits a month, a basic sandbox and no Automations
- Not for you if you need lots of scheduled jobs, as Pro allows 3 and even Max stops at 10, all still in beta
- Skip it if you want it working with files on a Windows PC, since the local connection covers Macs only
- Watch out: only GitHub and Notion are listed as integrations, and there's no API on record
- Not for you if you're buying for a team and want a price up front, as the Team plan shows none
Good to know
Good for
- People who want agent tools like Claude Code without a terminal
- Recurring reports and monitoring that run while you are away
- Trying several frontier models under one subscription
Worth knowing
- The Free plan is capped at 250 credits a month; frontier models, Automations and Capy Mail start at Pro.
- Automations are limited by plan (3 on Pro, 5 on Plus, 10 on Max) and are still labeled beta.
- A Team plan is offered, but the pricing page shows no price for it.
- The local-computer connection described in the docs covers Macs only.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Happycapy you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It costs $204 a year.
What you could not
- An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
- Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
- A library of papers and sources to search.
- A tool that builds and hosts other apps.
- A slide editor.
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
What this rests on. Happycapy’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
