Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

3.0

GPA, above 6 of the 11 other event ticketing platforms we grade

Humanitix is a ticketing platform set up as a registered charity: it charges booking fees like other platforms but gives all of its profits to education and health projects for disadvantaged children. Free events cost nothing, and every plan gets every feature, from seat maps and merchandise to a scanning and box office app. Buyers pay the booking fee by default, though hosts can absorb or split it, and large events can ask for custom pricing.

To get you started, here are 8 things to know about Humanitix, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for ticket fees that go to charity

Buyers pay the booking fee by default, so selling costs you nothing.

  2. 2

    It is free

Humanitix has no paid plan at all. No subscription or sign-up fee and all features on every plan. Free events cost nothing; paid tickets cost 5% + $1.29 each including card processing, usually paid by the buyer.

  3. 3

    It runs on 3 platforms

    Web, iOS and Android.

  4. 4

    Event builder with Canva

Branded event pages designed with Canva tools, an embeddable widget for your own site, and listing in front of the buyers who visit Humanitix.

  5. 5

    Complex tickets and seat maps

Capacity rules and ticket combinations, seat maps for tables, auditoriums or market stalls, merchandise add-ons, gift cards and invoices for corporate buyers.

  6. 6

    Hosts app and box office

The free Humanitix for Hosts app for iOS and Android scans QR tickets, keeps working offline, sells at the door and shows VIP alerts to door staff.

  7. 7

    A 3.0 GPA, above 6 of 11

That is against the other event ticketing platforms we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  8. 8

    Keep it

Humanitix is free, so making your own would save you nothing.

The report card

Best for ticket fees that go to charity

Humanitix does what a good ticketing site does, with seat maps, merchandise and a door app, but it's a registered charity that gives its profits to education and health projects for disadvantaged children. Buyers pay the booking fee by default, so selling costs you nothing. Just know that fee isn't small: 5% + $1.29 a ticket with card processing in.

ToolGPA report cardHumanitixGraded Oct 18, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyBNothing for you by default, as buyers pay the fee. Humanitix's own part is 2.1% + $0.99 a ticket, $282 on 200 $20 tickets, or $458 at 5% + $1.29 with card processing folded in. That's a fair whack for buyers, which is why it isn't an A. You can absorb or split it instead.
Free plan and trialANo subscription or sign-up fee, every feature on every plan, and free events, imported tickets and manual orders cost nothing at all.
FeaturesBSeat maps, capacity rules, merchandise, gift cards, invoices, a waitlist, an offline door app that sells and flags VIPs, and a marketplace you can search by access needs. Payouts come after the event by default, with earlier ones offered. It covers the whole job.
Ease of useCNo App Store rating on record. Event pages are designed with Canva tools, and Humanitix Payments means no processor account to set up, but there's still a page and tickets to build.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, iPhone and Android, with Stripe, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Facebook, Canva and Tixel for resale, plus a widget for your own site. No desktop app, which an A needs.
Grade point averageVery good, out of 4.03.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Humanitix is for

  • Great if you'd like your buyers' booking fees to fund charity work
  • Good for charities and schools, which pay 3.9% + $1.29 a ticket in all
  • Handy when you need seat maps, merchandise or invoices for group bookings

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you absorb the fees yourself, as 5% + $1.29 a ticket is more than the flat-fee rivals charge
  • Not for you if you want ticket money before the event without asking, as payouts come after it by default

Good to know

Good for

  • Charities, schools and community groups, which get a lower fee
  • Hosts who want their ticket fees to fund charity work
  • Events with seating, merchandise or corporate group bookings

Worth knowing

  • Paid tickets cost 5% + $1.29 each including processing, plus tax; buyers pay by default, or hosts absorb or split it. Box office card sales in the app cost 3% + $1.
  • Humanitix is a registered charity that gives 100% of its profits to projects for disadvantaged children; its fees are what fund that work.
  • Ticket money is paid out within five business days after the event by default; earlier, scheduled payouts are offered for hosts who need funds sooner.
  • Payments run through Humanitix Payments, where the fee includes processing, or the host's own Stripe account, whose processing fees are charged on top.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

Humanitix is free, so making your own would save you nothing.

And it is not the kind of software a weekend replaces.

What you could make

  • Reports: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • Newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox.
  • Selling tickets and checking them at the door.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It plugs into other products, Stripe, Mailchimp and Salesforce among them.
  • Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Humanitix’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
