Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.0
GPA, above 4 of the 147 other note-taking apps we grade
mymind is a private place to save bookmarks, notes, images, articles and text highlights, which it tags and sorts automatically instead of asking for folders. Saved items are found again by searching for a keyword, a color or text inside an image. It has no social feeds, ads or collaboration features, and the company says it is funded only by member subscriptions.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about mymind, taken from its own pages and our grades.
There's no Windows, Linux or iPad app, no bulk import, and sign-up is Google or Apple only.
- 1
Best for saving links and images without filing them
mymind is a private scrapbook: save a link, an image or a quote and it tags and sorts it, so you search instead of filing.
- 2
Paid plans start at $4.99 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $4.99 per month (The Bookmarker).
- 3
There is a free plan
Guest plan: free with no time limit up to 100 cards, with most features except Reading Mode, Same Vibe, custom thumbnails, custom app icons and Advanced AI for notes.
- 4
It runs on 4 platforms
Web, macOS, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Automatic tagging and typed bookmarks
Saved links are displayed by type, such as article, product, book or recipe, and images are tagged automatically. The Bookmarker plan leaves the AI features out.
- 6
Search by keyword, color or image text
Search covers keywords, colors, brands and dates, and image text recognition finds words inside screenshots and other saved images.
- 7
Notes and Focus Mode
Quick notes capture ideas and todos, and Focus Mode gives room for longer drafts. Notes accept a set of Markdown shortcuts and can link to other cards.
- 8
A 2.0 GPA, above 4 of 147
That is against the other note-taking apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
The plain part of mymind you could make: notes, bookmarks, web clipper, read later, highlights and linked notes. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card
Best for saving links and images without filing them
mymind is a private scrapbook: save a link, an image or a quote and it tags and sorts it, so you search instead of filing. But the $4.99 plan leaves the AI out, Reading Mode and summaries sit on the $12.99 one, the free plan stops at 100 cards, and once you pass 100 you can't go back to free. There's no Windows, Linux or iPad app, no bulk import, and sign-up is Google or Apple only.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | D | The Bookmarker is $4.99 a month but comes without the AI, which is the reason to pick mymind. Automatic image tagging needs Student of Life at $7.99, and Reading Mode, article backup and summaries need Mastermind at $12.99, where notes apps here sit at $6 in the middle. |
| Free plan and trial | C | The Guest plan is free with no time limit and most features, but it stops at 100 cards and a keen saver gets there in a week. Worse, once an account holds more than 100 cards it can't go back to free. |
| Features | C | Automatic tags, links shown by type like recipe or book, search by color or by words inside a screenshot, quick notes and a Focus Mode for longer drafts. It does save-and-search fully, and that's a smaller job: there's no bulk import from other tools and no collaboration by design. |
| Ease of use | C | 4.04 from about 420 App Store ratings, under the 4.5 a B asks for. The idea itself is simple, save it and search for it later with no folders. Sign-up is through a Google or Apple account only. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, Mac, iPhone and Android, plus extensions for Chrome, Brave, Safari and Edge. No Windows or Linux app, no dedicated iPad app, and the listing shows no integrations and no API. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who mymind is for
- Fits if you collect images, references and quotes and don't want to file them
- Works for finding saved things by color or by a word inside a screenshot
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want to bring your old bookmarks in, as there's no bulk import
- Pricey if you want saved articles kept in full, because that's Mastermind at $12.99 a month
- Tight if you're staying free, since the Guest plan ends at 100 cards and an account past that can't return to it
- Not for you if you're on Windows, Linux or an iPad, where the help center points you to the browser version
- Watch out: sign-up is Google or Apple only, and the $4.99 Bookmarker plan has none of the AI features
Good to know
Good for
- Designers and writers collecting images, references and quotes
- People who would rather search than file things into folders
- Keeping saved articles readable after the source page changes (Mastermind)
Worth knowing
- The free guest plan stops at 100 cards, and an account holding more than 100 cards cannot return to it.
- There is no Windows or Linux app and no dedicated iPad app; the help center points those users to the browser version.
- Reading Mode, AI summaries, Same Vibe and video uploads are limited to the Mastermind plan.
- Sign-up is through a Google or Apple account only, and there is no bulk import from other tools.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of mymind you could make: notes, bookmarks, web clipper, read later, highlights and linked notes. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 136 of the 147 other note-taking apps grade higher. It costs $59.88 a year.
What you could make
- Notes, bookmarks, web clipper, read later, highlights and linked notes: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- Apps for macOS, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
What this rests on. mymind’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
