Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 0 of the 40 other automation tools we grade

Parseur pulls structured data out of emails, PDFs, scans and spreadsheets and passes it on to other software. Documents arrive by forwarded email, upload or API, and fields are extracted either by AI engines that work from plain-English field names or by fixed templates. Plans are priced by the number of pages processed each month, starting with a free tier of 20 pages.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Parseur, taken from its own pages and our grades.

You name the fields in plain English and its AI finds them, with OCR for scans and handwriting.
From our report card of Parseur
  1. 1

Best for pulling data out of invoices, scans and emails

Parseur reads emails, PDFs and scans you'd otherwise retype, and sends the data on to a spreadsheet or another app.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $39 a month when paid by the year

As its pricing page puts it: $49 / month for 100 pages, or $468 a year billed annually.

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

20 pages every month (an email or spreadsheet counts as one page), 1 user and 90 days of document retention, with both parsing engines, the API and integrations. No credit card needed.

  4. 4

    It runs on Web

    Web.

  5. 5

    Document capture

Each workflow gets a mailbox with its own email address. Documents come in by forwarded email, drag-and-drop upload or the REST API, in more than 25 file formats.

  6. 6

    AI and template parsing engines

Vision AI reads visual layouts, Text AI reads plain text, and templates handle fixed forms. All three can run in one mailbox, and table extraction covers line items.

  7. 7

    Built-in OCR

Scans and photos are read by OCR that the vendor says covers more than 200 languages, including handwriting.

  8. 8

    A 2.0 GPA, above 0 of 40

That is against the other automation tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

To replace Parseur you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card

Best for pulling data out of invoices, scans and emails

Parseur reads emails, PDFs and scans you'd otherwise retype, and sends the data on to a spreadsheet or another app. You name the fields in plain English and its AI finds them, with OCR for scans and handwriting. After 20 free pages a month, paid plans start at $49 for 100 pages, every plan up to 3,000 pages is one user, and documents stop processing at 100% of the quota.

ToolGPA report cardParseurGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyDPaid plans open at $49 a month for 100 pages, which is the dearest tenth of this category, and 300 pages is $89. Everything up to 3,000 pages is still a single user: a second login means the Pro plan at $499 a month. Yearly billing takes off up to 25%.
Free plan and trialCFree needs no card and includes both parsing engines, the API and the integrations. It's 20 pages a month, though, with 1 user and 90 days of retention, so a real invoice week is over the line.
FeaturesCIt does document extraction fully: email, upload or API in 25+ formats, AI engines that work from plain-English field names, templates for fixed forms, OCR over 200 languages including handwriting, table extraction, validation, logs and alerts. One job, covered fully.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. Naming the fields in plain English and letting the AI find them is one half; the other half is a mailbox per workflow, a schema to validate against and retention set per mailbox. Python post-processing needs a Scale plan.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb only, with no phone or desktop app. Documents arrive by email, upload or REST API, and results sync to Google Sheets, download as Excel, CSV or JSON, or go out by webhook and through Zapier, Make, Power Automate and n8n, on every plan.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Parseur is for

  • Fits if an accounts team is typing invoice and purchase order details in by hand
  • Works for developers who want a document extraction API with webhooks

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you process a few hundred pages, at $89 a month for 300
  • Skip it if two of you need to log in, because multi-user accounts start at $499 a month
  • Tight if you're staying free, with 20 pages a month, 1 user and 90 days of retention
  • Watch out: at 100% of your quota new documents stop until renewal or a top-up, and unused monthly credits don't carry over
  • Not for you if you need HIPAA today, as the site lists it as in progress; data is processed in the EU

Good to know

Good for

  • Turning recurring emails such as leads or order notifications into spreadsheet rows
  • Accounts payable teams extracting invoice and purchase order data
  • Developers who want a document extraction API with webhooks

Worth knowing

  • The free tier stops at 20 pages a month with 1 user and 90 days of document retention.
  • Multi-user accounts and Python post-processing need a Scale tier plan of 10,000 pages a month or more, which starts at $499 a month.
  • At 100% of the monthly quota new documents stop processing until renewal, an upgrade or a top-up. Unused credits on monthly plans do not carry over.
  • Data is processed and stored in the European Union, and the site lists HIPAA compliance as in progress.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Parseur you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 35 of the 40 other automation tools grade higher. It costs $468 a year.

What you could not

  • Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
  • A builder that other people can use without writing code.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: handwriting.

What this rests on. Parseur’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
