The report card
Best for timing Pinterest content to what's rising
Pinterest Trends is Pinterest's free tool for seeing how searches and saves for a keyword moved over up to two years, by region, with demographics and some predictions. It shows a 0 to 100 index, not search counts, and covers Pinterest only. History stops at about two years, some features are in testing in certain regions, and there's no view inside the Pinterest app.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | Free with a Pinterest business account, which costs nothing to set up. Keyword charts, comparisons, shopping trends and Moments are all included. |
| Free plan and trial | A | Nothing to pay and no cap on record. You need a free business account, and the trends for your own followers only appear once your following is large enough. |
| Features | C | Keyword charts, up to four keywords side by side, shopping trends, seasonal Moments and predictions. It does Pinterest trends fully, but it's Pinterest only, with about two years of history and some features still in testing in certain regions. |
| Ease of use | B | No rating on record. If you already have a Pinterest business account, it's right there under Analyze performance. A new business account has to be set up on a desktop computer. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | Web only, in a desktop or mobile browser, as there's no view in the Pinterest app. It ties in with Pinterest Ads and nothing else. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
