The report card
Best for agencies hosting many WordPress sites
Pressable is Automattic's managed WordPress host, so it comes from the company behind WordPress.com and WooCommerce. Each site gets a staging and a sandbox copy, hourly database backups and a Jetpack Security license, and it's among the cheaper managed hosts here. It's WordPress only, email costs extra and there's no free trial.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Graded against the other managed WordPress hosts. Signature 1 is $250 a year for one site, so two years cost $500, about $20.83 a month, the second cheapest of that group. Monthly is $25, and visits over 30,000 are $1.20 per 1,000. |
| Free plan and trial | F | No free plan and no free trial, and the listing says so plainly. New plans get a 30-day money-back guarantee, which isn't a trial. |
| Features | B | A staging and a sandbox site per install, hourly database and daily site backups, Jetpack Security, 5 PHP workers per site, edge caching and a CDN, and a plugin update scheduler. Email is extra, but the managed WordPress job is covered. |
| Ease of use | C | No app store rating to go on. Staging and sandboxes make changes safer, but it's still WordPress hosting with plans and limits to learn. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | A web dashboard with no app on record, plus a documented API and the Pressable MCP server on every plan, with Jetpack and WP-CLI. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Pressable you would be making servers kept running, patched and backed up for you. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.2 is higher than 15 of the 21 other web hosts we grade. It costs $249.96 a year.
What you could not
- Servers kept running, patched and backed up for you.
- An engine that recognises new malware as it appears.
- It plugs into other products, WordPress, WooCommerce and Jetpack among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- What a company asks for before it lets staff use something: roles and permissions.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Pressable’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
