Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.2
GPA, above 6 of the 24 other presentation tools we grade
Prezi is a presentation platform that drafts a deck from a prompt or from imported PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva or PDF files and presents it on a zoomable canvas. Live polls, quizzes, Q&A and word clouds run inside the presentation, with the audience joining by QR code. Afterward the shared link offers the session as a narrated video, podcast or transcript, with flashcards and a self-test.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Prezi, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The report card
Best for zooming talks with live polls and quizzes
Prezi is a web presentation app built on a zooming canvas, where you move around your material instead of clicking through slides in order, with AI drafts and live polls people join by QR code. Free presentations are public by default, PDF export, offline access and the desktop app start at Plus at $19 a month, and the canvas takes longer to learn than slides in a row.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | D | Standard is $7 a month billed annually, but it mostly buys privacy settings and unlimited projects. The parts you'd actually pay for, PDF export, offline, the desktop app and unlimited AI, all start at Plus, $19 a month, in the dearest tenth here against a $9.99 middle. Teams is $39 a user. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Basic is free with the full online editor and 500 AI credits a month, then the caps bite: presentations are public by default, storage is limited and there's no PDF export at all. |
| Features | B | Covers the job: AI drafts from a prompt or an imported PowerPoint, PDF or Word file, the zoomable canvas, live polls, quizzes, Q&A and word clouds joined by QR code, and a link afterwards offering a narrated video, transcript and flashcards. Plus gates PDF export and offline. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record, and the zooming canvas is the learning curve: it isn't slides in a row, so your first one takes longer than it would elsewhere. The audience joins by scanning a QR code. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | A browser app, with the desktop app and offline access held back for Plus and higher. It does take decks in from PowerPoint, Google Slides and Canva, and pulls pictures from Unsplash and Giphy. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Prezi is for
- Fits if you teach or train and want people answering polls and quizzes from their phones
- Works for starting from an existing PowerPoint, Google Slides or Canva deck
Who it is not for
- Not for you if your decks are private and you're not paying, since free presentations are public by default
- Pricey if you need PDF export, offline access or the desktop app, which start at Plus, $19 a month billed annually
- Tight if you lean on the AI, with 500 credits a month on Basic and Standard that don't roll over
- Skip it if you want ordinary slides in a row, as the zooming canvas takes learning
- Watch out: these prices come from a guide on Prezi's blog from June 2026, and its monthly rates are approximate

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Prezi you could make: templates. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 15 of the 24 other presentation tools grade higher. It costs $84 a year.
What you could make
- Templates: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- A slide editor.
- It plugs into other products, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides and Canva among them.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Prezi’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
